Biggest failure for the PS4, for me, is how archaic PSN still is compared to XBL and Steam. Hopefully they are already doing the work to fix a lot of their problems.
For the PS4... Is a success on marketing(the retail), however PS+ is not so good.
For the Xbox One... Wow, it was horrible before backward compatibility, external drive support & kinectless.

lol, this front loaded thing again. Even though all the data and evidence so far has shown its not the case.
To OP. PS4 is already a success. Being they have gone almost 2yrs now without a price drop and are still the best selling console globally. As for XB1. Well, they are doing fine. The success of the PS4 is just making them look bad.

Not really, we will only be able to tell at the end of the gen. I hope it isn't more front loaded than normal, then we'd get a new highest selling console.
PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One
The Xbox only needs to win the US and they win the generation,
The Playstation can't win. Sales means nothing. :p

Sony to go bankrupt really needs to make very bad choices. Like an always on/always connected PlayStation, all digital with DRM, a bundled PS Eye camera, absurd policies about selling indie games, etc. etc... :p
