Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox One and PS4 "Platform" Exclusives

By the logic of some people in this thread I have determined that:

1. Platforms only count when they are in line with what that specific person wants.
2. Working towards a goal is the exact same thing as having already had it in place forever and why can't anyone else see that.
3. PC is an Xbox platform
4. PC isn't an Xbox platform
5. Phones are Xbox platforms
6. Phones aren't Playstation platforms, even Sony ones apparently.
7. I am wasting my time with this list since it will be dissected and misconstrued to try to fit the already loose agendas of those looking for this list to give them information that doesn't exist.

It really doesn't matter how anyone twists it, PS4 seems to always come out on top.

This confuses me. There are loads of xbox games that are exclusive to the xbox platform but because of the nature of the xbox platform is it on multiple devices. Windows, phones, tablets. They are still only available on xbox now that MS is unifying. The same thing can be said about PlayStation Now which is also available on a bunch of devices and a few on the list are in PSNow or on the PS3 or Vita.

Yet another list, yet another flawed list.

You really cannot make a list that satisfies every fanbase. Though, I agree with you. An IP like Ori is owned by MS and put on two of their platforms, it should count just like The Last of Us would count, owned by Sony and put on two of their platforms (3 if it is on PS Now, idk).

Maybe this will make it easier to understand.

Can I purchase the game for anything other than an Xbox or Playstation (respectively)? If yes, than it doesn't belong on the list.

It was already very easy to understand. As the post you quoted states: yet another list, yet another flawed list. It's ok, no one has really made an error free list yet. And I am well aware that no matter how you make it, PS4 will have more games than Xbone, so people can save that cop out reply.

There can't be an error free list. Only one that fits your specific prefrences. For some, the list of only 100% exclusives was perfect, for others, a list of all the games you can buy on one console but not the other is perfect. There is no objective perfect list, and there really doesn't need to be.

I'll post about this in the OP after I get home from work, as I think it brings up a really important point about list wars in general.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

What if we make a list of games that were announced as platform exclusives but ultimately end up on PC?

Maybe the XBox1 has a chance of winning one time.

Despite the 'all X1 exclusives end up on PC' stuff that was rampant a little while back, i think (correct me if i'm wrong) Ryse and DR3 are the only major examples of games that we thought were genuine X1 exclusives ending up on PC. Most of the other PC/X1 titles were either announced as such (e.g. Ori and FL), or alluded to (TR).

Windows isn't an Xbox platform.

You're right, but Xbox is on windows. Windows is an OS, and the PC is the device, that has the "Xbox" platform app. Not that different from a TV or DVD player that supports PSNow, or the Vita, or PS3. Same idea as a phone that has Xbox.

This isn't Xbox vs Playstation. This is Xbox One vs PS4. As in, I need to buy a Xb one / PS4 because... If I can play the game on PC then I don't need to buy an Xb one. Sure I can play Gears 1-3 on 360 and TLOU on PS3. But I can't play the remasters, which are better games if for no other reason than better res and fps.

If there are PS4 games that are playable on PS Now then they shouldn't be on this list, because you don't need a PS4 to play them. Though PS Now is only available in a few countries, so from my perspective all games that are on PS Now are still limited to their original platforms.

Anyway, I think some people will decide they actually prefer the exclusives list without the remasters added.

We got a "games you can play on one but not the other" list.
We got the "games you can play on this console and nowhere else" list
We got the "games you can play it you stick with one company"

Now make an "Every single game you can play on the platform without any exclusions because ever game counts" list and everybody will finally be happy!

I did it specially for you, I hope you are grateful for all the effort I put into making this list.

PS4 has 650 games out or announced in development within 2 years. Unheard of for any console. Even the massive amount of games the PS2 & PSX had... Crazy for less than 2 years out!
