What are your thoughts on the psu? I've always been told to not go cheap on it but it seems a little pricey.

Its pricey cause its gold + modular and I generally think gold isn't worth it overall but some people do. The difference is generally how much power efficient the psu is but usually you can get higher wattage + semi-modular for a lower price if u go with bronze! It doesn't generally mean that ur psu will last longer btw but rather how efficient it will be underload.

But yea, you should never cheap out on the psu but generally that means that don't get like a low watt psu or a psu from like a terrible company.

Edit: This explains it pretty well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus

Oh and also, if you want some aircoolers, you should have a look at:

Or if you just want a good but cheap air cooler, you can get this:

You can still OC it with that, just not as high as the other ones

Just plug those parts into pcpartpicker.com, probably save you some money. Also i see that you going with i5 4690k, assuming you are going to overclock? If so you probably want to pick up an aftermarket cpu cooler.

Will do.  Not sure about overclocking, I remember seeing a video on how its done a while ago, seemed relatively easy.  Will it really make big difference?

It's very easy and can make a significant difference in games that are heavy on the cpu. It's not a necessity though. If you are going to go with that cpu/mobo combo, then you should oc. If not go with the i5 4690 and a H97 mobo.

That specs would be nice! Go and build it. :). I'm pretty sure all of my games will run smoothly on that kind of specifications.

Looks like a great balanced high-end gaming PC. I would only change some brands and case due to personal taste but spec wise I think it's great for the money.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Great build mate. It's probably what I would use if I were to build a PC today. Well done.

Also, Windows 10 seems pretty great so far but if you can get 7 or 8 cheaper and then use the free upgrade it might be the way to go.

Oh and I like the closed loop water coolers for the CPU (Antec or Corsair). They're very quiet if you couple them with Noctua fans (Noctua are the best IMO) and they allow for some beastly overclocking, and they put less strain on your mobo than a traditional CPU cooler.

That 1TB hard drive is going to fill up fast considering how huge many modern games are. You might as well spend a little more and get a 2TB drive.

Also, since you're going to be emulating 6th gen consoles, you might want to consider a faster CPU. I have a 4790k and it can run Dolphin well enough that I often forget I'm using an emulator.

Wait for pascal gpus

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

I personally vvould upgrade the ram and overclock the cpu. HDD does not need to be huge unless you play tons of games. My 2009 Desktop has 8gb ram and my 2011 laptop has 8gb ram so that is vvhy I vvould personally vvant more (both for $900 as vvhole in the end).

Hold back on the GPU and get a better CPU. Or best of both worlds. Keep the GPU and use the money for not getting the SSD and put it towards a better CPU.

I see bottlenecks coming with your choice of system..

When Crysis  first came out my OC gave me an extra 12 fps. Thats huge. You need good cooling though and a nice motherboards to do it with.
