Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Major Nelson Strikes Back

It's just some cheesy fun. Nothing more, nothing less. I've seen comments on other forums of people becoming upset over it...way too much whining and sensitivity in the world today. I think Microsoft made a mistake by not locking down the marketing deal for Battlefront. Particularly with EA access only available the Xbox One. This is there way a taking a pot shot at Sony and doing something goofy at the same time. I laughed.

What's more funny is people actually taking it seriously. I'm sure Sony has never taken a cheap shot at MS before..oh wait, they all have.

Do you agree that it's a cheap trick to circumvent the marketing deal for Star Wars Battlefront? If so, it's not "just a joke"

Cheap, no. Smart, most definately. Sony shouldnt allow sucj=h things to happen. Next time maybe their contract will be written better... or you know they could just bring EA Access to PS4

Of course it's smart of MS (the Destiny perfume was particularly clever imo), I still think it's a cheap trick (not EA Access, but making stealth commercials for stuff Sony has marketing rights for), and that it comes across as very unprofessional. And yes, Sony should allow EA Access on PS4 lol

Just yesterday we heard their focus wasn't to beat ps4.

Lol, yea.  And with this and Phil Spencer's comments of late, it's obvious that they are trying to get the Nintendo fanbase, a very vocal group, on their side in the "fight" against Sony.   Possibly to spread bad sentiment on the net?   Doubt it has anything to do with them actually liking Nintendo.

Sorry, MS.  Sony isn't the bad guy here.  You are/were.  Sony's just kicking ass.

Nope... some people do like Microsoft and what they offer :)

Maybe he meant Konami. #fuckonami.

I assume that after the shit they got into about the Destiny stealth campaign this one was actually cleared with the legal team before it went on line.

MS loves anyone who's losing obviously. I doubt Major Nelson woulda said I love those guys back in 2008.

Very unprofessional.  It would be different if MS didn't do this at all last gen and were getting screwed by a tatic only Sony used.  But what really happened is MS isn't investing the kind of money they used to into the Xbox division, so they aren't able to spend a bunch of money on all the 3rd party advertising deals they used to, allowing Sony to swoop in and get them.  This is really just Xbox's rather childish way of striking out against their situation and Sony's deals.

Well, I will concede this one isn't nearly as bad as the Destiny ad.  That one really made MS look like a bunch of whiners who couldn't take a bit of their own medicine.

Basically this.

Also, if Nintendo were the dominant console seller this gen, we would be hearing "Sony? No, I love those guys!" instead. It's all business.
