At this point, I don't care anymore. Just give us the NX already. Anything before that is clearly just biding time, especially the Directs.

You got me excited thinking there was a Nintendo Direct announcement when I saw this thread :(

Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo Direct never happens again. Iwata was the one who created it and I wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo Direct ends with him. I hope it doesn't, but I would not be shocked.

I doubt there will be a new Nintendo Direct until the board or the shareholders elect a new President, who will decide if they continue with them or not and who will be the host.

I don't think we'll see a new direct anytime soon, mainly due to what happened with Iwata.

A few Nintendo Directs has got more than 1.5 million views on youtube: Splatoon, Smash Bros and Animal Crossing 3DS (Japan).
Now they get more than 1,5 million on their youtube channel for "Wii U - Super Mario Maker Coming Soon Trailer"
Maybe they feel that Nintendo Directs are no longer needed when they have established a youtube presence.

But because of Mr. Iwata's death and all, I'm not really surprised

They are not doing one because iwata passed and that was his thing. And even when they appoint a new president, they may not do more directs.

sorry to everyone who thought this was an announcement for a new direct. Also people saying it is because of Iwatas death you are probably right but if not a Nintendo Direct they need to do something to announce completely new games. Or atleast show Zelda.
