After a huge first week, Mario Kart show how strong can be the legs for the Nintendo games, indeed after 325k sold first week, is still selling after more than one year.

Splatoon has sold less than Mario Kart 8 first week, but after the second week which was pretty close, Splatoon is starting to outsell Mario Kart 8 all week in the same period.

Last week Splatoon sold 10k more than Mario Kart 8.

So, what do you think? When Splatoon will beat Mario Kart in the same period after launch?

I'm gonna say 15-20 weeks ( i'm seriusly conservate), and Splatoon will beat Mario Kart 8 in the same period, but in the intere life cicle, i think Mario kart 8 will beat Splatoon because one year more in the market.

No, at this rate, Splatoon has a high chance of outselling Mario Kart 8 in Japan. I can't say for sure how long it will take, however.

Last week Splatoon sold 10k more than Mario Kart, and the lifetime gap is 95k, so, if the trend continue, Splatoon will beat Mario Kart 8 in 10 weeks.

But that's not gonna happen in my opinion. So, i say in 15 - 20 weeks, probabily more close to 15 than 20, who know.

Also, Splatoon probably got a boost this week due to the last update.

First off, who would have thought that a new IP would have a chance of outselling an established one, in one market at least. That still blows my mind.
Honestly I think by year's end Splatoon will have a chance to pass up MK 8. Given that Splatoon has yet to have a holiday season and MK has already had one, the year end shopping season will benefit Splatoon more I feel. Also bundling it would help, but this rate that might not be needed.

Ah true. I guess I shouldn't have made it seem like a ultra rare event but it's something I think that's nice to see. Kind of shows that it's okay to do something different in this industry you know?
