The dude looked insane and aggressive. The policeman took no chances. I would've done the same if I were him.

This.

This.

Seriously, if you dont give respect, and you move towards a policeman with anger what do you expect... (I mean why was he going crazy at the cop for, the guy was stopped dangerously and illegally in the road).

I have NO problem with this. Don't jump out your car, point your hand at a cop, then walk toward them aggressively while yelling. He's lucky it wasn't a whole lot worse.

This. He showed agressiveness to a police officer. He got exactly the treatment he deserved.

No he did not, the police officer in question escalated the situation way too quickly.

The cop simply pulled up behind him and the old man got out of his car and started to act aggressive. Who's escalated the situation?

Cops have been shot over nothing in situations like this. Aggression towards cops escalates the situation and permits the cop to use force. If you don't want any force used on you, don't act aggressive with a cop. They are humans, too.

In a country where everyone end their mother can get a gun with no problems whatsoever, I would do the same thing.

Officers are protectors of citizens first, then people, self defense is important, but in any civil position, specifically the executive branch where officer's operate, its not as high a priority as making sure he is making the right call. That's why training exists.

Sorry but you are completely incorrect here.

Yes Police Officers are protectors. But Self-defence is ALWAYS first. Why? Because if the Policeman is knocked out or killed there will be NO one to defend you and then you will be dead or knocked out. So you better hope they defend themselves first!

I'm pretty sure that training always will state that they are to defend themselves and incapacitate someone who is threatening them first. AND RIGHTFULLY SO!

Let me tell you something that you have obviously never had to deal with in your life. There is a condition within the body called Fight or Flight. EVERYONE has it. If someone is coming at you, you will do one of 2 things you will either run away or you will fight. If you cant run away you can only fight and you WILL defend yourself physically first before "trying to talk it out" when someone AGRESSIVELY walks towards you shouting and raising their hand at you. Don't try to bend it to suit yourself.

As for the rest of you saying the Police Officer is wrong go work in his job for 1 month. You'll be shooting anything that moves towards you.

I think his definition is totally wrong. Policeman are the protectors of civil order. Its easy to understand that because bandits can be citizens aswell. They dont simply protect the citizens. That is a bad definition. The people who protect the citizens would be the military, but they only intervene in war situations.

At any rate, acting agressively towards a policeman is giving him green light to enact his prime directive. Keep orderly and you will be perfectly fine.

No I'm sorry, you are wrong, as a person the officer has their own self interest which includes self defense, but as an officer they must put their own responsibilities above that.

Its a dangerous job, not as dangerous as being a miner but that doesn't mean a miner isn't going to mine, firemen go into burning buildings, Police officers are at an even higher standard because they have the power to enforce the law and protect citizens under law.

Cut the crap about never having to deal with and fight or flight nonsense, Police officers are not civilians, you do not give civilians weapons and ask them to protect people, b/c then they rationalize like you do.

Contrary to your belief, people can be protectors, and protect others even if it endangers themselves. This is a police officer's job.

Your whole rant is why you would fail the ethics portion, god protect you if you ever met a police officer that thought like you did.

That's pretty naive. The real trick is to not be suspicious, which is a lot harder than it seems because suspiciousness depends on the officer.

Tasers hurt but are not lethal or cause permanent damage. The officer did the right thing why was that idiot even reacting so agressively against that officer hè didnt do anything yet. I hope that tazer activated some of the reflecting behaviour parts into that Idiot's brain.

Unless you are old or have a pacemaker in which case they can be lethal.

That's why they are called 'less lethal' rather than 'non lethal'.

This video should be shown to anyone thinking on travelling to the USA followed by a shouted "don't do it".

USA cops the modern day highwaymen.

The timing was a little off by the officer, the guy started walking away but everything he did before that, especially getting out if his vehicle pointing was stupid as hell. If the officer was out of his vehicle already he would have gotten his ass shot.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

That Cop looks like he was actually doing his job. I can't exactly say the same thing here in the Philippines. lol!
