Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony says it’s ‘very likely’ more remasters are coming

I'd love to see more remasters from the PS2/early PS3 days, rather than more recent games.

Definitely, especially PS2 era. Those games would benefit the most out of it. Later era PS3 games not so much ie Deus Ex Human Revolution, etc. But given GTAV/TLOU/Halo 4 etc, it doesn't seem like this is deterring Sony/MS.

Unfortunately there is going to be a PS4 version of this game which was announced back in June. Whoever thought that was an interesting idea is.....Beyond me (ha!)

Proud to be a Californian.

Remaster Race xD

Remasters are fine, if they remaster the right games.. :p

What else could they remaster? Untold Legends? Not trying to troll or anything, honestly cannot think of anything else. Fuck God please no Beyond Two Souls.

I used to really want that game.  I enjoyed it on PS3 quite a bit.  Then I saw the "Everything Wrong With Beyond:Two Souls" and I realized that the game would be painful to play through, again.

So 360 games now count as XB1 games? I can't keep up with these goalposts.

Didn't you know, a feature that maybe 10% of owners will use is the XBO's secret weapon.  Why do you think XBO won the month of June WW.  Oh, wait...it didn't.  Well, it at least won the month of Junr in the US...oh, wait...nevermind.  Guess people didn't care about that feature as much as Xbox fans claimed.

Depending on what games get added to the BC, significantly more than 10% will take advantage of it.

Also, I love how Sony fans exagerate the hype of BC. Nobody ever said it was going to cause a massive sales boost. And if it had the potential to do that it wouldn't happen until the holiday.

LMFAO!  Exaggerate the hype?  Uh, people were saying it was what made MS win E3 and many threads were made about it, talking like it was the second coming.  I see this is just going to be another "x game didn't have that much hype" that get's passed around when an incredibly hyped Xbox game doesn't do quite as well as some thought it would.

Links, please.

I saw two threads.  One got shut down and the I other was the official BC thread.  Then somebody made a thread saying BC would suck (in so many words).  That's it.

Can only speak for me but Sony announcing games like Shenmue and FFVII was kinda cheap.  They got people's hearts beating fast but it really was nothing more than a promise.  No gameplay or anything.  Meanwhile BC was announced out of nowhere and some of us got to sample it that exact same day!  But this isn't about BC.

I like remade games.  I bought probably 100 games at least twice.  I jumped on every iteration of Tomb Raider 2013, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 4, and a ton of others (see my thread "Games So Nice, You Bought Them Twice").  I don't downplay.  I try my best to be consistent.  I prefer an upgrade but I can't fault anybody for buying a game a second time and I can't fault companies for making a product people will buy.

Of course more will come, its easy money for them.

Personally, I couldn't careless... Unless it was Twisted Metal black being remade or remastered. All their other first part IPs, I find uninteresting.

People who want to pretend that consumers (who didn't own a PS3 last gen) don't want remasters are somewhat delusional and dare I say selfish. Like who would buy a PS3 this late in the game to play at 720p30 when their brand new PS4 can play at 1080p60, usually with all the DLC. Even if the PS4 was backwards compatible Id still prefer the better looking and performing remasters over the original release.

Remasters don't hurt anybody except salty forum goers with warped ideas about quality, "fun" and the industry in general. 9/10 times ports are outsourced so all these retarded ideas about remasters keeping studios busy and getting in the way of "new experiences" is just ridiculous. There are so many remasters that I don't care about (Dmc & Darksiders) and I just ignore them, why the hell is that so hard for some people to do. Like what the f@#k do you lose eh?

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

(1) Who said it was the best? I personally don't care for 'em unless the games being reamastered are from beyond the previous gen. (2) It's better than the wii u's line up. Of course, that's just my preference in games and yours as well. (3) Last time I checked, all 3 make remasters. Also, the only times I see someone talking about which side has remakes or not having remakes and how awesome/bad it is are people like you.

(4) Actually, several users have broken down the lists so that anyone can understand it (and probably ignore it). The lists weren't fluffed up by remasters. The lists are even broken down by type of exclusives. (5) This ties into 4 because we're not using remasters to fluff up the numbers. The xbox one does not have full BC and it can't play even the majority of 360 games. Also, BC does not make an old game current gen because it's still the same old game. BC has nothing to do with thread.

wait, wait, wait.. you are trying to say that sony's first party games on ps4 thus far are better than Nintendo's on the wii u?

HAHAHAHAHAH!! are you like 12 or something? lol
