Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon is a very serious contender for my game of generation so far

I dunno. I got it last weekend when I bought my son a WiiU for his birthday and it's the only game he got that we all (son, daughter, wife, myself) don't like. It's boring and messy (no pun intended) IMO. I don't see how it can possibly be considered such a great game.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

It's not even the best game on its own console, so I'm going to have to say it isn't for me.

For me it will probably be Xenoblade X or SMT x FE. Splatoon definitely will come close to 3rd though.

Or maybe for gamers?

You know you can be a fan of a company and love a game from another company.

I would say that Fire Emblem: Awakening is my game of the generation. Still, the generation isn't over yet so that might change.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

I haven't played it, so keep my legitimacy in check, but the story mode looks decent at best and the online is lacking in a lot of crucial content that compromise the games longevity. I mean, isn't there only 1 game mode and like 3 weapons? And isn't the level cap like 20? Game of the Gen should be a game that has legs throughout the gen and is one that, no matter how deep we get into the gen, people still go back and play it. I can't see Splatoon being played in 2 years. Even if they update it with additional content I really see this as a temporary Wii U game.

If this was a multiplatform game it wouldn't be as praised, it's because was developed by nintendo that some people hype it up so much. And yeah I know that since I love a lot of nintendo games...

No wonder people think Splatoon isn't GOTY material, you guys have no clue about the game.

So where's the Codename Steam hype?
