The Wonderful 101 is the game of the generation.

Don't think it will be in the top ten games of this year, it's a really good game but has it's faults.

Every game does.

Sure, but I mean it has too many to be gotg

How do you explain Skyrim then? That game has more bugs than Splatoon has sales.

Faults are more than bugs and glitches. They can be found in design choices, gameplay, content, etc.

Like Skyrim's boring combat you mean? Or small overworld? Or snail's pace? Or the graphics?

I gave up on Skyrim after 3 corrupt saves, the game wasn't very playable when I bought it. Maybe with mods and countless of patches, but can't be bothered to ever touch one of their games again. Fallout 4 looks like a last-gen game.

The only fault Splatoon has is its stupid rotation system (and yeah, it's a big fault).

Maybe the best game of the wii u but not the generation.

Too early to tell, but it's clearly on the contesters list.

Too soon.

No I don't think so and I play splatoon a lot, It can be shooter of the year but no game of the gen

I highly doubt that Splatoon would receive any award as a game of the year contender. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I didn't find Splatoon that fun and after completing a rather average single-player and a few hours in multiplayer, I strangely got bored of the game. I had some fun, but that was because I had nothing else to play once I got the game around launch. I'm aware that there's new content being added for free, but it my previous lasting impressions aren't even good, then I don't see why should I play the game again.

As for the topic of game of the generation, there's a very misguided thought that only open world and mature games can earn a game of the year award, which is not true at all. I mean, Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us aren't even open world games and look how many awards they got, it's amazing. Also, Nintendo games earn their fair share of awards, and many of them aren't even rate Mature.

So if we have to speak of game of the generation, I must say, it's too early because there's still games like Fallout 4 and Uncharted 4 coming, and considering the expectations of Fallout 4, that's a serious contender for Splatoon to even touch. We all have our taste, I understand this, but at times, I feel that a game must be looked at objectively before expressing an opinion when it comes to game of the year.

I'd say it's too soon to tell, but from publishers aren't pushing for gameplay innovations either. Splatoon plays like nothing else. That's what grabbed me. It felt the same way to me from when I played Smash 64 for the first time... It didn't play like very other fighter.

I believe Nintendo held the content to teach players how to understand the game completely. Hell, I'm still learning. I had no idea clothing brands meant something to your abilities and the percentage abilities carry. I also didn't think I would ever be switching gear often, or that I would be trying different weapons for different maps.

Overall, let's just be glad this game exists, and that it has become so damn successful on a small install base.

By the time thus gen ends there will be so many amazing games that most people will have forgotten about Splatoon. That's my prediction atleast.

Uhhh gonna go with no lol
