Forums - Movies & TV - Fantastic Four (2015) - Now 8%(!) on Rotten Tomatoes

It made 26 million dollars opening weekend, which is half of what they hoped from what I've read. Predictions on total domestic and world wide gross?

Well deserved, was it also necessary making another super heroes film? they getting boring

Avengers is far better!

yeah tired of people condeming an entire genre of film.  Do people say "why do we need another gangster film?" or "why do we need another spy thriller?"  Superhero movies are even broader than those so I'm not sure why anyone would ask for the entire genre of film to stop being made or lump them all together with one adjective.

Sorry if it did, I meant that I didn't like how they changed staple things, like how they made Johnny and Su adopted siblings >.<

I understand, its all good although Static Shock would be way more awesome lol. Certainly my favorite African American superhereo.

Personally, I'd have to choose John Stewart, with Luke Cage as a damn close second.

As a Marvel fan boy, I was not excited for this film. These are the issues with it from a fan boy perspective.

Doom was all wrong, in every way.
There were a fair few plot holes, like everyone needing masks to goto the Negative Zone then at the end suddenly not.
Yes, the adoption thing mattered, I felt no family dynamic at all between Sue, Johnny or their dad.
Thing having no shorts on. That was weird.
No Stan Lee.

There's more really but still.

I mean the film was very well made, effects good but honestly, it was a bit dull and that's it's biggest issue. I think it was an hour setup and very little Fantasticness about it.

Hmm, pie.

Haven't seen it myself but I was instantly put off by the trailers when the entire cast looks like they still live with their mom and the "muscle" looks like he's bench pressed for a few weeks and eaten a few extra apples for his "mad mass".
I don't see why they're even doing it; the second F4 movie was only 8 years ago, Spiderman was even worse with only 5 years between the 3rd in the last series and the first in the new one.

Remakes everywhere in both movies and games; this is getting boring for me, to be honest.

I've seen it. I wouldn't say it's that bad - better than 'After Earth.' But I would say not as good as say two episodes of 'MutantX' which was sort of a Kevin Sorbo attempt at a mutant Saturday Afternoon TV show.

I would say the 1994 Roger Corman version is much better - even with it's dated effects and VCR look. It's more fun and enjoyable.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

They have to else they lose the rights.

Hmm, pie.

From a perspective of an non-fan of the fantastic 4, and being asked to watch this from a friend, I will say that I went in with low expectations, and I found it entertaining.. I don't remember the origin story all that well and I have no attachment to any of the characters. I do remember a little bit of the last two movies, and I'll say those felt pretty lame after watching them on cable; hence, I all I can say is that going in with low expectations to anything will probably net you an entertaining time.

Correct. They have to have a Fantastic Four film in development seven years after release of prior one or Marvel gets the rights back, which is why this exists at all.

I can't let this go.  You have to REALLY low standards.  I'm fine with changing source material (IM3 and AoU are AWESOME!) but this was a boring lab test centric movie with no fun or soul.  It's just a terribly directed, acted, and written film.
