[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Once again Famitsu or Media Create PS4/Wii U bias* in their sample base confirmed. That's a big discrepancy between the two.

But what is really surprising is that there are 3 Wii U games ahead of the first PS4 game in both charts. Makes me think the Famitsu numbers are more likely to be correct this week. Of course there's always the issue of the degree to which PS4 owners have gone heavily digital, so the software charts for PS4 sales may greatly under-represent game sales on that platform.

*No, this is not the same as fanboy bias, this is the term used in a proper statistical context.

Worst month for Vita is actually September, not October. Wii U alone having a bad month =/= worst month for everything.

You Are wrong and i am 100% sure that The worst month for Vita is October, which was for 2 weeks under 10k, The only month of 2014 when Vita was under 10k was October.

I'm not wrong. 57,552 (October) is a higher number than 57072 (September).

30 days September, 31 days October. October sold less per day than September ;)

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

As expected it seems Animal Crossing takes the top spot. But man over half a million for a spinoff? And it pushed 3DS HW sales past 50K? I guess this game was the right idea for Nintendo after all. Also nice to see Fire Emblem still on the chart (and above 10K) and to see that Splatoon is still beasting.
The PS4 is also holding steady as well which is pretty cool to see as well. Hopefully upcoming games like MGS V can push it to higher numbers in the future.

Wow, i didnt think that happy home designer would sell this well. But im still amazed by Splatoon performance. It actually sold more than last week, and if im not mistaken, by quite a bit.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

If anything I think this shows the Animal Crossing audience is largely on the handheld side by now.

I don't think even Animal Crossing on Wii debuted this high in Japan, and this is just some small spin-off title.

Wasn't the Wii version pretty much a remake though?

And the  particular  discrepancy about ps4 between famitsu and Media create, continues, which means that sometime one of the trackers will start to adjust by showing lower selling weeks,if media create is the one who must adjust or Famitsu howing higher selling weeks,if it's the tracker that must adjust...

MC: 1.646.415
Famitsu: 1.543.857

That is the difference right now... Famitsu always showed less than MC and no adjustments was made so I don't expect that to happen.

I always go with MC, as do the Big 3.

Don't forget that Sony are bundling a digital copy of Bloodborne with every PS4 sold in Japan at the moment. They won't show on the charts but it still is something the new PS4 owners will be playing, lessening the need to buy other games.

Ahh, yes, that will certainly make the software numbers look low, and it will probably slow down the pace of buying retail games a bit. With a 1TB HDD and fast internet there's a lot to be said about buying digital. And of course if you sign up for PSN+ (even the one month free trial) you get a decent (quantity-wise at least) game library from day 1 without buying a single on-disc game.

Software charts that do not estimate digital sales are going to become very redundant the deeper into this generation we get.

Animal Crossing is such a beast... even a spin-off pulls amazing numbers.

Splatoon keeps selling well, damn! I think it'll surpass our expectations yet again. 1m in Japan is a given now.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
