Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft Vs. Sony Vs. Nintendo

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii... We know which ones are more powerful. We know which ones are more expensive. And we know which ones are more popular. But, do we know which one has better games?

To determine which console has better games can be very difficult. It is never a fact to determine which console has better games, but always an opinion.

Personally, I think a good game gets reviews of 80% or higher. Games that get reviews of around 70% are considered descent. However, because there are so many video games out there, it's hard enough to collect all of the games that scored around 80%.

The Xbox 360 has 44 games that got reviews of 80% or more.

Now comes the process of elimination.

There are 7 games, created by Microsoft Game Studios, that got reviews of 80% or more, for the Xbox 360.

These titles are: Gears of War, Project Gotham Racing 3, Viva Pinata, Crackdown, Uno, Perfect Dark Zero, and Kameo: Elements of Power. If you are a true Microsoft fan, and own an Xbox 360, then these games should appeal to you.

Let's narrow it down even further.

There are 3 games, created by Microsoft Game Studios, that got reviews of 80% or more, and have sold 1 million copies or more, for the Xbox 360.

These titles are: Gears of War, Crackdown, and Perfect Dark Zero.

The Playstation 3 has 9 games that got reviews of 80% or more.

Again, the process of elimination.

There are 2 games, created by Sony Computer Entertainment America, that got reviews of 80% or more, for the Playstation 3.

These titles are: Resistance: Fall of Man, and MotorStorm. If you are a true Sony fan, and own a Playstation 3, then these games should appeal to you.

There are 0 games, created by Sony Computer Entertainment America, that got reviews of 80% or more, and have sold 1 million copies or more, for the Playstation 3.

The Nintendo Wii has 5 games that got reviews of 80% or more.

Process of elimination...

There are 3 games, created by Nintendo, that got reviews of 80% or more, for the Nintendo Wii. If you like Nintend, you must might want to consider buying these games.

These titles are: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Mario, and WarioWare: Smooth Moves.

There are 2 games, created by Nintendo, that got reviews of 80% or more, and have sold 1 million copies or more, for the Nintendo Wii.

These titles are: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and WarioWare: Smooth Moves.

At the end, the Xbox 360 has the most games that have reviews of 80% or more. Playstation 3 has the second most, followed by the Wii in last place.

The Xbox 360 also has the most first party games, that have reviews of 80% or more. Nintendo Wii is in second place, followed by the Playstation 3 in third.

The Xbox 360 also has the most first party games, that have reviews of 80% or more, and have sold 1 million copies or more. Nintendo Wii is in second place. Playstation 3 is in third place.

But you also must remember that Xbox 360 has been out longer than the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

Out of 44 games for the Xbox 360 that got reviews of 80% or more, only 7 of them are first party games (44 divided by 7 = 6.29).

Out of 9 games for the Playstation 3 that got reviews of 80% or more, only 2 of them are first party games (9 divided by 2 = 4.5).

Out of 5 games for the Nintendo Wii that got reviews of 80% or more, 3 of them are first party games (5 divided by 3 = 1.67).

To conclude, about every 6 third party Xbox 360 title that gets good reviews, 1 first party title will get good reviews. About every 5 third party games for the Playstation 3 that gets good reviews, 1 first party title will get good reviews.
About ever 2 third party games for the Nintendo Wii that gets good reviews, 1 first party title will get good reviews.

wow, you're real dedicated.

but check your math: your interpretation of the ratios is off by 1, which for wii, where the ratio is 1.67, it's really 0.67, which, needless to say is a huge difference.

the Wii is an epidemic.

all ur posts say the same thing :/

Ok, you are happy X360 user - good for you but who are you trying to convince with these posts? Members of this community or yourself?

Trying to show where all the consoles stand. Xbox 360 wont win this war. With an entire year ahead of everyone else, it's barely beating the Wii.

Do you really care? If this is your system of choice good sale is just a nice addition to the package. If PS3 will end on position nr 3 (actually I don't believe it) I don't care. Even if they will realese only Tekken 6, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, FF and MGS4 I'm in.

So basically...pick a console and enjoy it. End of arguments.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Yeah, lets see how these numbers pan out in a year.

I own PS3 and Wii, and soon to own 360, so I wont really have to worry about which console is better. But the lack of games on all of the consoles can be kind of dissapointing. Well, hopefully we will get better games within in a year. Also, the first post was meant to show each consoles strength and weakness. By no means was it to determine which console is better.

Of course more games are coming...we all know that.  Listen to BenKonobi88.
