So your saying iam someone old who does not want progress yet digital games are a step BACK.

You know you buy thin air.

where physical you buy SOMETHING.

Digital games are a step forward. Again, that's like saying itunes was a "step back." I'm sorry, but I was under the impression that you listen to music. Who cares if you own "thin air?" Games are made to play, not to hold and touch. That "thin air" makes for a better, more convenient, play experience.

Thats because most people listen music portable

They would have to make digital games ridiculously cheap over physical copies to break me from my love of physical.

This debate is pointless... retailers and major consoles keep artificially jacking price of Digital in order to appease retailers. The main advantage of digital should be that they are cheaper than physical. But, if overnight digital games would be $10-20 cheaper than physical games, this would kill the retail market.

All these threads wouldn't be defending physical if they cost $10-20 more than their digital counterpart has they should. Music and Movies have all gone fully digital and it's only a matter of when not if Video games will go mostly digital. It is pretty outrageous that physical games cost are on par or sometimes cheaper then Digital games. Obviously physical games offer more value if priced the same has digital.

I wouldn't pay full price for Digital games but as it stand I got a good deal on my pre-order of Witcher 3 and other good deal on deals with gold such as Forza Horizon 2 (50% off).

Yes i would still prefer physical copy over digital if its even 30€ more expensive. I did so for a lot of older console games for example. The reason why retail games are less expensive is because the market decides, and the market ussually drop the price very quick as they have to get rid of the stuff for new games. Digital can make unlimited amount of copies without any logistic problems

Digital for me. Don't have to worry about my games ever getting lost or damaged and most of all getting up having to eject a game and put in a new one is just bad. lol

Another good reason why physical is better... you don't have to buy storage. That, and physical games are much, much cheaper.

"I love collecting games."

I love playing games. Digital makes for a better play experience. I buy digital. I'm sure there will always be collectors editions for people like you. Otherwise, it's just artificially slowing down progress.

It's so weird. Seeing stuff like this makes me actively see time passing by. I used to watch TV shows where the stereotypical old person would have these kinds of sentiments about the obsolete technology of their day. It's weird to see that these are now becoming my peers.

Age man. Weird.

According to statistics, almost 80% of core gamers buy physical. It's not going anywhere. Physical will likely be here after digital is gone and streaming has replaced it for the minority fringe such as yourself.

Most of the issues you discussed in your video have nothing to do with physical vs. digital.

1. Broken games on day one.  This applies to physical copies as well.

2. Servers eventually shut down.  Again, people with physical copies have to deal with this as well.  When you buy a digital copy, you can still play the game after all the servers are shut down (unless it is online only, but again, same issue with the physical copies).

The fact that nobody has mentioned any of this yet makes me think most of you didn't even watch the video.

I only do digital if it's my only option. For example, if Fatal Frame 5 is digital-only, I'll still get it. And I'll do indies and virtual console games digitally too.

But if given the option for physical, I'll always go with that.

Physical all the way. Even if the digital version is cheaper I would still buy the physical one. I still buy my movies physical too so it's just a preference.

You look like me, but manlier.
