Forums - Gaming Discussion - Activision says Black Ops 2 engagement has risen to over 11 million monthly average users

In Activision’s Quarterly Earnings call, Activision CEO stated that since the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 reveal in April, player engagement in Black Ops 2 has grown incredibly.

In fact, there are over 11 million users playing monthly, an incredible number of players for a title that is only available on last-gen platforms.

Absolutely incredible considering the game is almost 3 years old and isn't available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Black Ops 2 still gets 11 million people playing per month? :o
Gotta wonder what other COD games are still getting then. I wonder how Ghosts and Advanced Warefare are faring in comparison.

Ghosts is definitely dead, that game never reached good numbers in terms of people playing. On BO2 PS3 you'd see an easy 300k+ when the US was still sleeping (morning/early afternoon in the EU), Ghosts PS3 & PS4 was lucky to see 150k at peak hours during launch month.

holy shit. this will move a lot of PS4 and XB1 consoles. people are moving on to next gen, most players will want to play with their friends and will get either a PS4 or XB1 to do so.

That's a lot, Call of Duty Black Ops II is one of the peak of CoD in term of sales.
Not a chance for Black Ops III sell so much, i believe that as the usual BO III will have a dropped compared to AW, but i can be wrong.

Blops 2 on WiiU tends to have a pretty active community! I see people on my friend list signing on all the time. I have the 360 version though.

It has a ton of eShop ratings, and I consistently see at retail -- I think its undertracked on WiiU

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Sony made the right call getting COD exclusive marketing rights when they did. It will be interesting to see if the marketing rights will sway sales.

According to NPD BO II on Wii U is massive overtracked ( the first month).

black ops 2 is available on wii u, so its not only available on last gen consoles.
