Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Scalebound Looked...Underwhelming

Tagged games:

So my take aways from the gameplay trailer was this...

-Presentation, Game looks beautiful and im loving the dragon and world design...however the main character is super out of place and the head phones is really lame.

-The character, not a fan of his character thus far. I love Dante (BOTH Dantes) and this character seems way to much like him. I know Kamiya is the creater of Dante but come on...have so more range with your characters!  Also its funny that he even looks pretty similar to DmC Dante considering how much hate the game gets.

-The music, i dont mind the dub/electro beats however its super repetitive which can get annoying and it really doesnt fit! Its so out of place just like the character! Its really off putting.

-Gameplay, like others have said it looks underwelming and off and WTF does the dragon do? Saying that however it does look like the game will have some monster hunter-esk style game with maybe some hunting and crafting going on...im not so sure just awild guess but that would be cool.

-Pacing, i know i know its just a demo but the pacing seemed really weird and off to me....i dunno.

I was never expecting much from this game as i wasnt overly hyped from its first reveal but im still interested and will my eye on it.

looks cool but the performance right now is hideous

I guess I was expecting it to be more fast paced being it developed by Platinum Games, and that part disappointed me a bit, but the game does look good imo, I'll just wait for more gameplay trailers and hope they polish that framerate drops.

Nintendo Switch FC: SW-6340-7643-4233 aka Renji

Steam: Lee Roid

I used to be super hyped for this game but now that I know its an action rpg I'm kinda meh. I just feelxth industry is becoming as saturated with open world and action rpgs now as it was with fps 6/7 years ago. Hate the main guy, sound was terrible an GFX are underwhelming as hell. Oh well guess I'll hold off re buying an x1 even longer.

It looked interesting but we didnt see something making of it a must have or a systèm seller for now, im disappointed they didnt show thé open world and flying... After one year of waiting gameplay for a 2016 game, its a bit short

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Looks amazing, definitely looking forward to this game. Still awhile until release. Its a good answer to Horizon and Xenoblade.

To me, it looks equal as impressive to Horizon and more impressive then Xenoblade (Xenoblade just doesnt tickle my sweet spot) Different games and respect all of them, however i do trust Platium games over GG when it comes to a quality product, GG has been known to release duds *Killzone SF* GG do make good looking games.

All 3 look good.

That said they are very differnt games, with differnt gameplay styles.

I guess Scalebound is more like Xenoblade than it is Horizon.

Afterward rewatching Scalebound, followed by trailors for Xenoblade and Horizon,

Im not as impressed as I was mid the presentation of it though.

On its own it looks good, but compaired to Xenoblade & Horizon... not nearly as impressive.

This reminds me of when Super Mario 3D World was first shown and there were threads like this all over the place but then they showed another trailer and everyone realized how wrong they were.

Scalebound looked amazing to me. I feel like Microsoft needs more games like this anyway, something to really make the console stand out.

Yeah, I was really taken by it myself. It's definatly something, like you said, that the Xbox brand needs. I thought Quantum Break looked great as well.

Didn't like the opposition in style between the heroic-fantasy setting and the DmC-like MC tbh

That main character is supremely annoying

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

It looked like shit because the developer sucks at playing it. IGN First has 8 minutes of footage which is much better. Someone who actually knows how to game was playing that version.
