Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Scalebound Looked...Underwhelming

The gameplay shown wasn't the greatest, but I like where they're going with it. They still have more than a year left before release.

Just looked it up. Gameplay looks like it could be quite enjoyable. The main character's mouth and the music sucks though.

Even if you thought it looks "underwhelming", unless you just like watching games you won't know if it's any good until you actually play it...

As a gamer, truer words have never been spoken! Thank you. Sorry I don't have more to add other then wait for reviews/impressions before damning a game before release.

Happy to hear some folks still reserve the right not to mouth off or praise a game that they haven't played and that only has few minutes of footage.

Looked great to me. Still had some performance issues but looked good.

White hair, has a dragon, immune to fire.... Dude must be a Targaryen. xD

This game looks like a cross between Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy in the best possible way. The only fault I see that the combos look weak and don't seem to string together properly. Other than that everything looks great.

Yea I saw that the combos need to be done better. Looking forward to it though.

Scalebound, brought to you by Beats audio...wait Apple owns Beats. Apply buying Microsoft confirmed

I really don't get what the thing is about bow and arrow in a technologically advanced world.

This does make me miss Drakan: The Ancient's Gates. But Rynn >> than this dude in Scalebound.

The game has promise as a good entry in the Xbox library, lets hope Xbox gamers actually buy it. I worry that the game style doesn't appeal the the Xbox user base, and that sales expectations may not be met, not unlike Sunset Overdrive. Expands the diversity of the game library, but doesn't expand the diversity of the gaming tastes of the core Xbox user base.

Anyone notice the guy looks like he has some sort devil trigger mode? Dragon trigger confirmed?

I agree with OP, looked very underwhelming.

Some things just looked completely off like the animations...like its still at a very early stage of development.

Given that this is (hopefully) very early gameplay footage, running animation, which looks like the main character has a stick up his virtual butt needs some serious polish. As for other things that felt "off" for me was the headphones in a fantasy setting but I'm sure there is more to the story here so I'll reserve judgment but initially it didn't mesh well with the setting IMHO. And that mine he threw at the mantis WTF was that? And where the heck did he pull it out of? I know he picked it up from that case but it looked ridiculously huge. Maybe the title Scalebound has something more to do with the size/aspect of in-game assets than with the dragon theme?

I too am underwhelmed but it's still early and it's Platinum so I'm sure it'll be a great game.

Underwhelming for sure, but at least you get the direction that the game is going and it's also not going to release till 2016. Wait and see on this title.
