Forums - Sales Discussion - Ok this is getting ridiculous again

Does it pis you ofg that there are no sales?

Yes 157 80.93%

No 37 19.07%

Total:194

It would be nice to have sales numbers, but I guess we've grown acustomed to have these long waits.

But, please, I beg you, stop publishing Preorder charts. Not only are they the most inaccurate charts on this site, but it is silly to get them with a month's delay. Those games are already half price by now.

You would have every right to complain if you were paying someone to perform this service for you.

isn't your viewership of the ads presented on this site an indirect form of payment?

It's not like I willingly choose to watch ads...

You can willingly choose not to watch them (most people I know use some form of adblock).  Besides that, the ads also pay for servers and keeping the forums up, something we are all getting use from.  I doubt they bring in enough money to pay for someone to analyze sales data.

You can't assume all people know of and use adblock. I personally have adblock, but even then, just being here increases the sites population which does look favorable to ad providers. If I left, oh well. But if everyone like me left, then revenue starts going down (even though I use adblock).

I don't know how they are handling money, but if your site's name is literally advertising your site through sales tracking info, then you should have sales tracking. That's like saying you're going to make an fps but you're gonna include the guns later as dlc.

They can either fix the situation for free (at the expense of their money), or they can fix the situation and charge a price (at the expense of their site traffic), or they can not fix the situation and call themselves vgforums (at the expense of their site traffic).

QFT

couldnt agree with this more. You both make good points, but this here is the real meat of the issue.

I don't assume all people use adblock.  You are not paying someone to analyze sales data simply because there are ads on the page.  None of us are.  Some of us aren't supporting anything at all (people using adblock).  Yet everyone has a collective bitch fest because someone doesn't feel like spending their free time creating sales data for us.  Anyone who wants to complain is free to start their own sales tracking website.

The name of the site is VGChartz and it is chock full of video game charts and sales information, regardless of whether they fix the situation.
