What? Why does this thread exist? So many Sony first party studios haven't even announced their games yet...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Aren't Sony attending the Paris show instead this year? There are quite a few different shows in Europe.

Yep, and it is about time the French get some atention.  There are a lot of gamers in that country.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Don't think it really matters. From what I remember of Gamescom last year it was just a huge indie fest, nothing big was announced there. Let's not forget Gamescom is for Europe, a territory that Sony has pretty much already won anyways, E3 and TGS are just much more important to them and they've done the right thing by focusing on them instead.

This is not the case at all, otherwise they wouldnt be in the Paris game show later this year with a press conference.

It was just a matter of conflicting timing. The early gamescom wasnt so good timewise for Sony but it was perfect for Blizzard for example.

Was it a good idea for them? Probably not. It will depend on much hype microsoft can garner at gamecom and how long they ride that wave.

I actually think Paris Games Week works out better for Sony. Microsoft may gain some hype and momentum after gamescom, but then Sony has PGW AND TGS pretty much all to themselves, and from there they roll right into the holidays.

Sony owns the rest of this year and that will carry them into 2016. They've strategically locked in with huge marketing partnerships throughout the year. They've got nothing to worry about. Batman won June for them (and probably July), Getting the COD beta first assures August, Destiny and MGS win Sept, and Battlefront and COD assures huge numbers for the rest of the year.

round one k the Hat games multiple games every year after this yearr.

I'm not sure why they chose Paris Games week over Gamescom, but it doesn't seem like a good decision to me because Gamescom is much more popular.

Going to be a long wait for Horizon.

Halo 5 release, having the news cycle for themselves instead of having to share with MS or the other publishers really, there're probably other good reasons...and Sonys conferences pull in the crowds and press anyway and actual physical attendance of these gaming shows isn't affected by who's having a conference or not either so it doesn't really matter when they hold these things.
