Its a solid 8/10 and good game overall.

Nothing new or revolutionary and abit dissapointing for a zelda game but definitely not a bad game. It has one of the more interesting plot in a zelda game (not saying much lol) with some fun new temples and weapons. The music however is dissapointing with the lack of open world being restrictive. Also my biggest beef with it is the motion controls....kills any depth with the combat.

The first time I played it I was slightly disappointed with elements but wowed by the ways it innovated. The second time the innovations were a little less shiny and I realized just how horribly flawed it is. It felt like half the game was spent yelling at Fi to shut up and lamenting that I was on such a terribly linear path. It does a lot right but it also does a lot dreadfully wrong. A definite mar in what was previously a line of perfect console titles.

Love it. The controls tend to suck hard. But I still found it really enjoyable.

I love it, I love it, I love it!
I just beat it again recently, in fact, it was yesterday, and it's my favorite video game of all time!
Amazing storytelling, the atmosphere is incredible, the characters are unforgettable and likable.
Dungeons are among the best the series has to offer, and the motion controls are the best that the Wii has ever put out!
Plus, the soundtrack is PHENOMINAL! Ballad of the Goddess, Nayru's Wisdom, Ghirahim's Battle Theme, Fi's Theme
And I love how the combat is handled in this game. It's not just mindless button mashing anymore, or mindless remote shaking in the case of the Wii version of Twilight Princess. This game actually requires you to pay attention, to use strategy to counter that of the enemy, it's as close to being an actual swordsman as you can get by playing a video game, and my God I love it so much!
However the game does have it's issues, namely with padding.
No seriously, the game really goes overboard with padding.
But other than that, everything else is absolutely incredible!
Go play now!

Edit: Motion Controls shouldn't be that hard to master. I was just sitting down and taking it easy in front of the TV like every other game I play.
Just do smooth and swift movements with it, and don't go swinging it like a lasso, otherwise it's not going to know what you're doing.

It has some great moments but most of it gets ruined by the unresponsive motion controls. Add a lot of recycling of content, boring empty overworld and the most annoying sidekick, it's the one Zelda I did not finish.

The sand sea was great, as well as everything with the time shift mechanic but it was not enough to carry the whole game. I quit twice before yet came back to finally quit forever after having to replay the same section over and over thanks to unresponsive controls, resetting me to before a lengthy unskippable cut scene. It was recycled content again, The imprisoned round 3.

Great game and good Zelda game, I enjoyed more than Twilight Princess.
Only serious minus for me was that game back you to places in which you already bean.

a worse WW...

And boy do I have a good memory with this one. XD
I actually stayed up at night until around 4 AM beating the game for the first time. And I had to go to school a few hours later, I ended up oversleeping and missing my first class.
But it was definitely worth it! lol
I remember, right after the final cutscene after the end credits with Link and Zelda on the Statue of Hylia, I specifically said, "I just beat my favorite video game of all time."
I played Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and A Link to the Past before Skyward Sword.
And enjoyed those 3 games very much, (especially Twilight Princess), and I thought they were all fantastic.
But this game... this is the Zelda game that made me a huge Zelda fan!

It has good story and ost for the franchise but nothing special, overall is a really boring and empty game which I doubt will play again. Can't believe that i agree with samus aran, this would be 70 in metacritic if it wasn't for the zelda name.

Here are my thoughts. I started gaming at or around 1983 as a little kid. I'm the NES generation. I grew UP with Link. He's my bro. I've played each title AS they launched.

I have yet to play SS.

Motion controls were fun. I had fun playing Wii Sports and Wii Play and goofing around etc. But the problem is, motion controls, at least in the Wii generation, were half baked. They weren't precise enough for hard core games. Zelda is a game where I want perfect precision. I bought Mario Galaxy. I died WAAAAYYY too many times on that damned hamster ball and water level due to faulty motion controls. That experience cemented my stance and from that day forward, I made my mind up that I wasn't going to play any more hard core games without analog sticks and buttons.

Watching Miyamoto waggle and fail during the SS demo at E3 was the nail in that games coffin for me. Unless it gets a remaster with analog controls, I'll never play it.
