It's the shittiest Zelda game ever made. And yes, I'm including the Zelda CD-I games when I make that statement. At least those games were so bad that they were entertaining. Skyward Sword is just... bad.

Why am I saying this? For the following reasons...

- The artstyle is shit. Impressionist my ass...

I've seen better looking gamecube games. Case in point:

- The game doesn't have an overworld, it's divided in sections which you will revisit over and over in the game. This game has more backtracking than Metroid.

- Sky loft feels incredibly empty. Only the town feels alive.

- The game's world feels artificial. Where are the gorons? Where are the Zora? Where are the towns or cities these races live in?

- The motion controls suck. I can't count the amount of times where I had to recalibrate the wii motion controller and no I didn't waggle it...

- The whole game was way too formulaic. Complete a Silent Realm, enter new area, dowse for hidding objects that are needed to progress, complete pre-dungeon puzzle, complete dungeon, rinse and repeat.

- Dowsing is the most boring mechanic ever introduced in a Zelda game.

- Silent Realms give me chest pains because of my anxiety disorder (the sole reason why I quit playing the game at the silent realm in the volcano area).

- Shields that can break are stupid.

- You have to fight the forbidden over and over again in this game (again, too formulaic).

Even Metroid: Other M is better than Skyward Sword.

It's pretty good. Some aspects make it really dificult to replay, though, such as Fi. I feel like the beginning drags on, but for what it really is, I'd say its a solid game.

Many people who judge the game badly only do so because they're judging it on Zelda standards, on its own it really is a gem.

bet: lost

- Fi is the most annoying companion in video game history.

Ugh I tried to block the memories of the Imprisioned, thanks for making them resurface. I hate that muppet.

Your batteries are low Samus.

If this game didn't have Zelda in its name it would be sitting at 60% on metacritic right now.

is a slow game. mainly the beggining.
but a amazing game if you live with that.

it marked me more than TP.

Skyward Sword and Wind Waker HD (HD definitely improves over the original) are my two favourite Zelda games, by far.

But I'm not a big Zelda fan, either. Those two were the closest to interesting in regard to story/characters, and they have the best combat.

I detest it. Motion controls, tutorial after tutorial, Link losing his left handedness T.T , being too linear for a Zelda game, having a stupid hub area -in Mario Galaxy thats fine... but in Zelda it doesnt feel right and ruins the openness I felt in other Zelda games v.v and that stamina meter can go fuck itself

It is amazing.

There are some really good areas and dungeons, but on he other hand overworld is almost nonexistent and terribly empty. Motion controls didn't bothered me that much, but honestly, they were quite unnecessary. Visuals are matter of taste, playing it on Wii tends to be blurry mess in distance, but in Dolphin it looks quite OK.

Stick through first few hours, they're somewhat tedious (like most 3D Zeldas), but it's a decent game overall.
