Nintendo should at this stage have a good relationship with both indies and third partys...

When did that happen? They have a good relationship with third parties again? What was the trigger/catalyst for better relations?

I'm just guessing, they have to be shaking some third party hands and making a few deals other wise there no reason to make another console it would just be the WiiU all over again.

Its droughts will be minimized due to Ninty opting for a handheld and micro home console that play the same games. Think of it as Vita/Vita TV. They will disguise the micro home console as a tradition home console. Pitch both plats with something unique and wacky to attempt to pull off another Wii/DS situation but instead this time these plats will be one in the same playing 99% of the same games. Saving tons of resources for the mobile market that they are entering.

Hopefully Nintendo realises droughts are a very stupid and harmful thing. As such they will target to bring 3rd parties back so it will have as much droughts as the other two consoles.

Realistically I can see it being a little better than Wii Us droughts.

Every Nintendo console since the N64 has had software droughts early and often in its lifespan.

For the N64, at least there was the excuse that working within the limitations of cartridges and transitioning from 2D to 3D make development difficult early on, which is why there were so few launch titles and software in general within its 1st year on the market.

But for the GC, Wii and Wii U it was inexcusable. And of course the common thread for all 4 consoles is the ever dwindling amount of software from major 3rd party studios.

If they go with a unified strategy than its very plausible for them to have this type of software output, they currently do but it's spread out on 2 separate platforms.

I don't think the wii u being Nintendo's first HD console was an excuse for lack of games. It was no big deal for microsoft and sony when they moved to hd consoles. Well maybe it was for Sony as the playstation 3 was so complicated but the wii u if anything is a much closer match to the wii than the 360 was to the original xbox.

Yes. And because of that is why many like me are exciting for the Nintendo's future platform.

And Iwata promised before the Wii U launch that they were ready for HD development...

So I agree. Wii U being HD is not an excuse for the poor library.

Same here, honestly I would probably own both the handheld and console regardless but it's nice that I'll be able to play console games on the go along with my portable games on the TV.

Nintendo said later that they very underestimated HD development, also people are forgeting that 3DS was in very bad shape in first year so Nintendo have put great effort in order to save it (and they succeed) but that affected on devolpment of Wii U games.
