The Colts bounced back big time in the AFC South today. Now they lead the division with a 1-2 (1-0) record. Amazing!

Other news: The NFC South is the strongest division of its conference with a 7-5 record. Additionally, only the AFC East boasts a better record at 8-4. The AFC West can match this with both a Denver and a Kansas City win in the final two week 3 games.

More news: superchunk sticks a fork in the Chicago Bears.

So... They can't match it...

So the Cowboys were able to score 28 points in the first half, then weren't able to score anything in the 2nd half.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta offense was on a tear in the 2nd half. This is usually a sign of good adjustments and coaching, as they were able to completely dominate the 2nd half of this game. I really liked the hire of Dan Quinn and he seems to be doing a pretty good job as first year head coach. To be fair, almost anyone would have been better than Mike Smith (if anyone watched 4th quarter one possession Falcons games last year, you know exactly what I mean). After reviewing the Falcons remaining schedule, it looks relatively easy. They have games against the AFC South (nothing's a given in the NFL but it's the weakest division in football); their toughest games from a glance are 2 against CAR, vsMIN, and @SF.

The Eagles weren't the dumpster fire I thought they were. I let 'em off the hook...

I don't really follow the Falcons that closely, but I feel like Mike Smith got a bad rap.  He was too conservative as a coach, but so are most NFL head coaches.  They had been pretty good in the fourth quarter with him as coach before, especially 2012.

From 2008 to 2012, Mike Smith had them at a 56 - 24 regular season record.  That is damn good.  Two losing seasons in a row plus that awful 1 - 4 playoff record made him an easy scapegoat.

I feel like that team just ran out of talent in 2013 and 2014.  Do they still have the same GM?  That is what I would be more worried about.

This has been a rough game to watch. Hopefully the 2nd half has some fireworks.

Does Manning getting bailed out by his receivers on jump balls count? He just has to throw it in their area and they catch it over anybody! That Daniels TD was a good one though, d with back turned he put it high where only Daniles could react and catch it in time. This one's over folks, Denver wins on its defense again!

The Broncos secondary is pretty fierce two more interceptions today.

Go Chargers.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Broncos may have found a little something with the pistol formation, a bit of a marriage of pfm's shotgun and kubiak's traditional run game, but it won't amount to much if the o-line doesn't start playing better. Playing Detroit is something of a confidence builder for the line, the pass protection was far better, but again it was Detroit, and the run blocking is still atrocious. They need to find a way to get Max Garcia in the game, preferably at center, I really don't see why he isn't in already.
