See, at least Cousins can rightfully claim that his idiocy was a panic move, and it didn't cost him the game.

Slater did what Belichick said to do, he according to post-game question, he asked BB 3 times.

Then I have absolutely no idea what Belichick was thinking. I guess the conspiracy theory thing would be to suggest that he'd rather play the Jets than the Steelers in a potential divisional matchup and has enough confidence in his team to beat Miami next week, but that seems incredibly un-Belichick-like. Wind wasn't a factor. Maybe he thought that little of the Jets' offense?

Only thing I can think of is playoff seeding.  Otherwise it'll remain a mystery, because we know BB's already on to Miami.

Tbh, looking back on it, I'm skeptical that Belichick and the coaching staff did request this. ESPN's by no means the most trustworthy source in the world, but I have trouble believing that they would just make that coin toss transcript up, and it definitely seems to suggest Slater thought he was confused about what he was selecting. My guess would be that the coaching staff covered a misque up; kicking the ball in overtime on a day like that doesn't seem like an intentional choice anyone would make.

It's possible, but BB's doubled-down on it in the post-game interview.  Said there was no confusion, they wanted to kick.

I realize that's what he's saying, but I simply find that nigh on impossible to believe, especially given the transcript of what happened before the coin toss. I imagine he simply wants to deal with the inevitable questions himself in the usual Belichickian way, rather than having them all dumped on Slater.

In a shocking turn of events, the Cardinals look like the stronger team.

It doesn't hurt that suddenly David Johnson looks like the unquestionable best RB in the league at present. Good timing for the Cards.

Hm, At least Carl has the integrity to not cheat.

Not even a field goal out of it. I'd post a psyduck picture here if my head wasn't hurting so much!!!

Man, Clay Matthews is a dickhead. After he pulled that BS with the fake help-up for Palmer, which he did an intentional late pancake hit on, it was sweet to see Palmer nail that TD on the very next play. Fuck you Matthews, you stink up an otherwise mostly classy GB team.

Ha, the funny thing about that was that I thought Mariota was playing.

Castor and Farsala both sent me updated picks a few minutes ago.

You weren't supposed to post their picks at this time. Edit your post!

I was asking because two people were missing (Carl and WiiStation360).

Also, castor and Farsala were supposed to send their picks to me, but whatever.

I knew why you were asking.  I was hoping Carl would PM me his picks and then I would pretend that he sent them in on time.

Edit: In a fun turn of events, those joke picks have the same record through the first 9 games as their real picks.

Luckily due to the standings I can make risky picks, instead of going for realistic picks. 2nd place is a sweet spot, but it isnt 1st place yet.
