Sony has always been that pro-type of company supporting games with varying genres and different critical receptions. Seems like Sony had a hard time last gen making non-AAA games to have terrific sales, it was not as apparent unlike the eras of PSone and PS2 whose audience were as not as reliant to critic reviews to sell games but now that it's dominating with PS4, niche games such as Vanishing of Ethan Carter making a profit out of PS4 in its release week or the fact that a heavily(and unfairly) criticized games such as Driveclub moving sales are becoming quite often for the system. With agnostic gamers on Sony's PS4 userbase who are very willing to buy games out of critic's taste or the typical gamers' radar, does it mean the golden era of gaming is upon us once again?

There is no "unfairly criticized". Reviewers are meant to review a game based on how it is at LAUNCH, not how good it is months after launch. It doesn't matter if Driveclub is an amazing game now, they reviewed the game how it was at launch.
