Soon enough we will see other big players start to do this as well. How long will it take for electronic arts or Ubisoft to do it now that both Sony and MS has started using Kickstarter for their own agenda?

MS is using crowdfunding to gauge public interest. Sony used kickstarter in that way before. There's plenty of people who support it and others who don't. Some said that sony was doing something bad only because it was sony.
