Sorry, but replaying the exact same area with the exact same enemies with the exact same encounter with the exact same content more than 10x in a row as a gameplay mechanic....

That's what makes it the worst game I've ever played. I like hard games myself, and I always play every game at max difficulty, but the Souls series is carved on repetition. That just doesn't make any bit of sense to me.

I can tell that you didn't really know what you were doing if you ever actually played Demon's Souls.

Oh, so you're the exceptional player who didn't have to replay the same area over and over again? Please tell all of us how you achieved such a feat.

You shouldn't have been going into an area repeatly unless you were there for something specifically and you didn't have to fight the majority of creatures in a area unless you wanted to. The game is not repetitive unless you're dying repeatily because of the same creatures/mistakes over and over again.

Alot of people who try to play the game offline only or "these days" never experienced the full game. Nothing can compare to playing the game while being invaded constantly by other players and helping fellow gamers through their game world. There's nothing repetitive about Demon's Souls. Every time you would go somewhere it was geniunely different because of other players. Alot of people kept playing the game long after they beaten it many times.

If you don't like the game, fine, that's your preference but it is one of the best games out there. Playing the game just a little bit won't give you any insight into the game. It's just like when a virgin loses their cherry but that person doesn't get the hype about sex til they've been at for a while.

Oh so you've gone through the entire game without replaying any sections whatsoever? Really?

You must be god himself. Sorry but I guess my mere mortal hands can't relate to your amazing ability. Offline or online, players die because the game is built that way. And when players die, we replay the whole section from the beginning.

If you never experienced that, congratulations. You might be the only man on Earth who hasn't replayed a section of the Souls series.

Edit: I appreciate the fact that some people enjoy repetition so they love the Souls series. That's fine. However, please don't pretend that they aren't all about repetition. That's the greatest lie I've ever seen.

Anyway I didn't make this thread to talk about the worst game I've ever played. I made this thread to talk about the best RPG in the past decade so I won't be making any further comments about how crappy Demon's Souls is.

No, witcher 3 is the most overrated rpg of the paat decade. You seem to be forgetting skyrim, fallout 3, dragon's dogma, and pretty much everything else.

Reread my last reply to you again because you didn't comprehend what I wrote. I didn't say anything about me not replaying any sections or areas of demon's souls. Nothing in any of the souls games was repetive. You probably died many times to the same creatures very early in the game (not learning from mistakes is repetitive), quit and ever since then you hated the game.

In regards to your topic, I think any of the souls games > The Witcher 3 in terms what RPG is the best in the last decade but of course, we're each entitled to our own opinion.

That title, given all the hype and sales vs how much it paled even compared to one of its own predecessors, Morrowind, firmly goes to Skyrim.

Are we at least in agreement that it's better than wild hunt?

Different beasts really - Skyrim is pretty much standard TES game for all its good and bad things, just dumbed down for mainstream, W3 is pretty much attempt to make high budget mainstream Gothic.

To make things bit more clear, I'd take Morrowind over W3, just like I would take any Gothic over Morrowind, but, at least for me, both Skyrim and W3 are about 8/10...but as I said, different beast, open-world RPG genre is really only thing that is common for them.

Too many design flaws and glitches int he game. You can not even travel to any part of the game like Skyrim so the world is not really as big as it appears to be on one plane. The more I played the more the games flaws became apparent.Story is not interesting and controls are really clunky.Good presentation, but the characters themselves are not that good besides the designs.Overall a good game, but far from the best int he last ten years.

Hmm, valid points. I personally am very underwhelmed by w3. I remember reading a quote from cd red that the map was going to be 20% bigger than skyrim, and then I saw the graphics, and I fell for the hype. I just think it's funny that they directly tried comparing their game to skyrim.

Personally, I prefer Xenoblade.

the story is way worse than the story of witcher 1 and 2...
