Forums - Gaming Discussion - How Can SE Make The FFVII: Remake Battle System Fun For Everyone?

What's your opinion on how SE will change the battle system?

They'll change it to an ARPG 10 22.22%

They'll retain turn based combat 10 22.22%

They'll modernize the old system 23 51.11%

Other (explain below!) 2 4.44%

Total:45

Just combine action and ATB, or like most people say FF 13 + FF 7 or make it like FF 12 or Xenoblade, Because we know that Final 7 combat is very weak compare to other JRPG at that times. And also there are so many good JRPG that out perform FF7 in terms of combat. And i hope SE change the ATB classic, with more strategical combat instead of waiting the character to perform action and make me sleep when i do grinding some level. They might not able to please every one but they can just focus to new fans, since most fans that played FF 7 already adapted to new combat system.

best way will be all available for player to choose which one they prefer...

Haha... nice thread. Yes by keeping it the same.

Anyone who moans about it, we can just point at FF7 and say "Dude, it's a remake."

Hmm, pie.

Upgrade original battle system.

3 characters, ability to swap character, on-screen character dead = no swap, give every character the same experience points even if not used in battle, limit break gauge resets after every battle, re-balance every attack/skill/magic/item/summon/materia, make mana valuable so you have to use different characters constantly, action menu can be assigned straight to buttons: X = attack/skill menu, Square = magic/summon menu, Triangle = item menu, Circle = skip turn, to confirm press the same button again, with this setup you could go from menu to menu really fast, Auto-Battle option but not like FFXIII where it is so good you don't have to use anything else, maybe introduce cooldown on magics/skills/summons so you cannot spam, defend would shorten the cooldown

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

I'm happy with anything but ARPG

Hehe, make two battle systems, one that is similar to FF XV, and one that is FFVII's battle system, just refined, and you can choose (and even switch) yourself. That won't happen, but it would've been sweet.

I thought about this too, it's the perfect solution.

The Dissidia FF games had that option. I dont remember the terms they used but I think it was Standard (fighting combat) and Traditional (I think it changed the system to play more like an ATB RPG). Whatever the case, even though it was a spin off, it can be done! But youre right they more than likely wont add that in

changing the sub-genre of the best-selling JRPG

Off-topic but Pokemon Red/Blue wants to pick a fight with you. :p

easy (at least in theory), the new, probably more action oriented, battlesystem should have an option to scale it down to something like parasite eve's 1/2 or vagrant story's battlesytem.
