Forums - Gaming Discussion - Zombi (ZombiU) announced for PS4/XBO/PC

Actually makes we want to play it again on my WiiU.

Such an awesome game. Sad it didn't do millions on WiiU.

Also don't see how this will be that good on other consoles as the gamepad added a critical element to the survival horror atmosphere.

This actually may even get people interested in the Wii U version again, being as it has other gameplay features that people have loved (second screen)

Digital only? Nope, I'm not interested. There's plenty of other zombie fish out there.

idk why they wasted their time tbh. I mean it was fun on wii u when it came out. But since then, like someone else said, you have stuff like Dying Light that is out, so whats the point of re-releasing this game which was received with mediocre views from gamers

ZombiU was favoured more by critics than Dying Light was looking at metacritic ...

I can see where your going with Dying light since that game has higher production values and sold more too ...

Having played ZombiU all the way through, I would recommend this port to those non-Wii U owners who want a fun survival game. I am curious to see how they price it though.

There would be a lack of interest in 3rd party games on PS and Xbox also, if they were only given ports like ZombiU for 2 decades straight...

Uhhh... I think youre ignoring what support Wii U had.

The same games that did great numbers on other platforms simply went ignored on Wii U. Every Wii U should be bundled with Deus Ex!

Those 'same games' were old or inferior ports.  Much like this ZombiU port they were destined to fail.  This is a tradition on Nintendo consoles which is why there is no userbase there for 3rd party games.  3rd parties were crapping on Nintendo gamers long before Nintendo gamers were crapping on 3rd parties.

I agree that Deus Ex is a fantastic game, but it was also 2 years late.  Hence my orginal comment: "There would be a lack of interest in 3rd party games on PS and Xbox also, if they were only given ports like ZombiU for 2 decades straight..."  People go where new games are released, not where old ports are released.

I dunno, Zombi could be more financially worthwhile for Ubi than ZombiU was. But I'm not anticipating a big hit either.

According to Wii U fans, the Wii U audinece is just too savvy for 3rd parties. The Wii U ports were fine even if they weren't perfect. Features removed from Wii U ports weren't significant to the average user, in fact I bet the average consumer wasn't aware of any omissions in Wii U versions. Also, why would Wii U owners care if their version was inferior? Why not simply enjoy the version they have available to them?

I'm a X1 owner and I know the PS4 versions are generally technically superior. Does that stop me from enjoying what I get on X1? Absolutely not.

Bottom line, people aren't buying Wii U in hopes of playing 3rd party games. Its the machine to play Mario and a few other gems.

I agree.

I believe most people (at least core gamers) use Nintendo consoles as a companion.  They know they will need to have something else if they want to play big 3rd party releases.  This means that the time of release and quality of game is important.  If someone was interested in Deus Ex for example, they would have already played it 2 years prior.  I think it's less common for people to companion an X1 to a PS4 - meaning differences that game quality causes to the games sales are less profound.  I think it was a mistake the port games like Deus Ex and Mass Effect 3 to the WiiU and I think it's an even bigger mistake to use them as litmus tests.

This brings be back to my original point: "There would be a lack of interest in 3rd party games on PS and Xbox also, if they were only given ports like ZombiU for 2 decades straight...".   Feel free to blame Nintendo, or 3rd parties, or both for the lack of consumer confidence and interest in 3rd parties on Nintendo's consoles.  There is only one group involved that doesn't deserve blame and that's the consumer (even though I see them blamed on these forums all of the time).

Wow coolll i will buy it in a hearthbeat i hope its cheap
