DC because their animated movies and TV shows are better than Marvel's and the latter' movies are underwhelming.

Secret Wars is a great way to start. A good choice.
The story after AvX for Marvel have been in my view poor. I mean nothing changed in the X-men and Hickman is throwing up on everything else.
It is too expensive though, I'm down to 3 books a month, well come October none. Don't like Marvel's new direction of taking what made them big and going down the wrong route and following their movie stuff too much. Thank god for Saga and BKV.

Hulk has never been more than just Hulk, the recent big moment was Planet Hulk and the whole idea of that was very clever, ending with World War Hulk. It got a bit silly after that as everyone and their mum got Hulk like powers. Ironman is stale because of movies and Wolverine... well that murderer has been going too long, we both know that. He hasn't had charactersation since Claremont wrote him.
With DC, the folding and reboot cycle they do is odd but characters like Flash and other still stay strong.

The only thing I can analyze is movies because I never read the comics. Marvel has created a ton of movies that I think are above average, but DC is the dark knight trilogy, which is one of my all time favorite series. So I guess DC. Not a huge fan of either though.
DC has Batman, so DC by default :P
They are both great though!
