Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do you think NX will be below, equal, or above the power of PS4?

How will NX fare in comparison to the PS4?

Below in power 297 32.21%

Equal power 99 10.74%

More powerful 108 11.71%

Very weak in comparison to PS4 67 7.27%

A little weaker 128 13.88%

Very powerful in comparison to PS4 30 3.25%

A little more powerful 106 11.50%

Like 2 WiiUs duct taped together 87 9.44%

Total:922

It'll be roughly the same if it's a home console I think.
The PS4 and XONE plan on being around for a long time, so if the NX jumps in at roughly the same power with a lower price point, and a catchy "gimmick" like the Wii had to attract more people it could do very well.
As long as the hardware is similar and they're selling consoles there would be little to no reason for developers to ignore it for third party sales.
Call of Duty on the Wii wasn't exactly fantastic but it used to provide pretty solid sales.

Below. I wish it was equal to the PS4 though.

Who knows. If it is below, it won't be by much - that's for sure.

I agree with OnionBerry. I would hope it's as or around the same power as the PS4 with strong 3rd party support. I would love to see what folks have to say then.

I HOPE it's stronger than PS4, i want a Nintendo console that doesn't have gimmicks, make it raw power with a traditional controller.
It also needs to secure third party RPG exclusives/multiplats and Nintendo should probably develop an old school Fire Emblem RPG for it, the Wii U is like 3 years old and still not even 1 retail RPG game to play...that's just terrible.

Paper Mario NX, Fire Emblem NX, Mario & Luigi NX, a new Xenoblade, Dragon Quest X & XI, i need goddam rpgs please Nintendo.

It's probably going to be a bit below the PS4 and with a wacky controller though... :/

My suspicion is that it will be below, but not by much. It will probably have a GPU similar to an XBox One's, because it's significantly cheaper, and saving about 50 dollars on the GPU seems more in line with Nintendo's philosophy. I have no clue what they're going to do with regards to the RAM and the CPU, though.

More important than anything is that it needs a large hard drive, especially if it wants to encourage third party support. A terabyte at the very least would be desirable, considering how fast everyone is filling up the original 500 gigabyte hard drives. Still, they have to make sure there's at least 500 gigabytes in there.

It should be around equal in power. Probably a slightly weaker CPU but a better GPU or something. Maybe it'll be on par with Xbox One, who knows?

According to Moore's Law it should be 4x as powerful as the Wii U (while being cheaper, because no gamepad). That gives us:
- 8GB RAM
- Probably an 8-Core CPU
- 128GB of Flash Storage on board

I did the (very basic and uneducated) math on GFLOPS, etc. and that put the machine's power snuggly between Xbox One and PS4. Maybe someone who's educated on this stuff could do the math and determine where a machine 4-5x as powerful as the Wii U would be in terms of power.

Below. We already have rumors suggesting it won't be targeting those specs.
A launch price of $250 for the NX in holiday 2016 is my leading prediction.

This but I think 2017 not 2016

From what we've heard, it'll most likely be a little weaker than the PS4.

I certainly hope this isn't the case, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I hope more powerful
