I hope as much as possible and that MS bundles the game heavily. If it's at least as good as the 2013 Tomb Raider, everyone deserves a copy.

Dude, this comes off of a predecessor that eventually sold 8.5 million units, MS wanted this to go up against Uncharted and SE wasn't satisfied with sales of the first game after 5 million units I believe, that really should give an idea about the kind of money that's involved here, this isn't some medium sized game, this is a fullblown AAA game. A million for this kind of release in the first quarter is not much.
around 1.5 million is my guess.
Edit: and around 2 million if its bundled during black friday.
Mr.Playstation said: ~0.70M. I think that it's in the same position as Sunset Override was last year. It's a good game, but there's a ton of bigger releases, releasing at the same time. Of course you can blame my jeloulsy, since I won't be able to play the game for a year. |
around sunset? no way. Sunset Overdrive is a new IP and released on a smaller install base. this is a very well known IP, the last entry in the franchise sold 8 million, and would have been released just 2.5 years ago by the time RoTTR would have released. while a majority of the install base of those 8 million sales from the previous game werent on XB1, the XB1 would still have a considerable amount of fans on it and people interested to help tomb raider pass SO easily.
Launching the same day as Fallout 4 and square enix just said that PC and PS4 versions are coming next year. So my guess is less than a million
I'd say around a million. I was very optimistic before the Fallout launch, but its going to get crushed in its first week by that.
I know a lot of people are talking about the 8.5 million sales figure, but that came much later after VERY heavy discounting across all of its six different platforms and an install base of hundreds of *millions*. The figure is almost irrelevant to a discussion of how many the game will sell on Xbox One in its first couple of months.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
I'm going with 500K. Just because of it coming out with all of the other great games, and alot of people saying they're holding off for the PS4 version.

Yeah, but Sunset was up against the master chief collection while Tomb Raider is up against Halo 5, Fallout 4 and Star Wars. Also if I remember correctly Sunset only managed 0.4M before the end of the year while I predicted that Tomb Raider will sell 0.7M.
Most people can't/don't want to pay full price for all of these games and when they place them in a list from Most wanted to least wanted. I'm sure that for at least 70% of Xbox gamers the game is going to be at the bottom.
