Forums - Politics Discussion - President Obama: 'I Could Win' Third Term In White House

Eh, I don't particularly like him as a president (though he is better than the two republican competitors, McCain and Mitt). I think Hillary will/would've been way better.

He's just synonymous with "President of USA" it's weird imagining someone else in the position. Great things have happened since 2008 so it'll be interesting to see how the next president (Hilary) does to continue the progress.

None of the other numerous presidents ever held that title to you before him...?

And claiming Hillary straight up is a bold thing to do. There's been a lot of backlash against her on both sides; although the conservatives still can't pull a good candidate out of their hat.

Of course not.

It's bold I'm just saying she's got the minority vote and the milennial vote it seems, and there aren't any other candidates that would gain enough ground to beat her. Unless you can think of one?

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

I am not sure if it would be that simple for him. Obama 08' is not Obama 16'. In 12' a lot of people voted for him a second time because they thought that he'd do things they liked in his second term because he didn't have to worry about votes. They were mistaken. Not sure if they'd vote a third time hoping that Obama 08' would shimmer through the cloud that is Obama post-presidency.

Odds are a democrat will win the White House in 2016, incumbents always have an advantage and Obama is still fairly popular. Not a crazy or arrogant statement to make at all. Clinton and Reagan are recent presidents that could have coasted to third terms as well.

He's been a good president. I wouldn't mind have him for another 4 years. That 2-terms maximum rule is ludicrous to me. Here in Quebec we don't have any of those rules. We just vote them out of office if they don't do a good job.

I would rather see Barack as the USA's president for the 3rd time than Trump or Clinton to be honest.

Trump would be great as a president

It would certainly be great for all of the late night comedians...

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, obama. He's so arrogant. Democrats lost complete control of congress so he uses executive orders to bypass working with congress. Politicians should work together to try to find solutions to the country's problems instead of focusing on one's party agenda. All he's done is further the divide between the parties and put the US further into debt.

He has still made far fewer executive orders than Bush, Clinton or Reagan though...

I never said anything about the amount of executive orders he's done but rather it's the executive orders themselves and when he's using them that are the problems.

Obama hasn't been a very good President. not a terrible one, but kind of weak and indecisive on manners. He's just kind of - blah. he might be right that he would win potentially if a President could go for a third round- however often people get comfortable and will revote for the same candidate for odd reasons

I daresay that a lot of the Presidents who have had 2 terms would have had a great chance to win in a third, often it's leses about politics and the public liking or feeling comfortable with a personality in the position

That's our problem though, we don't vote people out in the US.  Congress has terrible approval ratings every year and yet incumbency continues to be high.  If anything I'd support term limits on senators (2 term) and representatives (4 term).
