Forums - Gaming Discussion - TLoZ: The Wind Waker is the best looking game ever. Period.

It really is a beautiful game. Still, there are many other games which you can argue is the "most beautiful." After all, its just an opinion.

I could name about 100 games that looked better than Wind Waker. While the cell shading in that game was cute and quirky, the only piece of the game that really impressed me was the smoke animations, of all things. It was the only part of the game that really had style in my opinion.

But overall, the design of the game was derivative and when it wasn't stealing from other designs, was just plain bad.

Meh. It's probably the worst-looking Zelda game ever created in my eyes.

@ OP. Seriously man that is just your opinion. I bet heaps of people would argue that its no way near best game ever.

I wonder if the age of the gamer has anything to do with the fact that they like WW, the first bunch of people in this thread are very young from what i can remember, and may not have been of gaming age back in the old Zelda days.

Because everyone i know hated Zelda WW, these would be people from the age of 20-25.

^ I love WW, I'm 18, my mate loved WW even though he hates cel shaded games in general and he's 21.

Griffin, sorry you point, out the window.

This is a prime example of cell shading to perfection:

Huh? i don't remember seeing that in Rise of the Ninja....wait, Is that Naruto: Rise of the Ninja? or is it a sequel?

I enjoyed WW and I felt the graphical style suited it, but they were by no means perfect or the best ever, in my "opinion". :P

I love both (TP and TWW), I wish so hard I could have both in one game XD like two modes but thats asking too much, being serious it reminded me of the old SNES game artistically but TP reminded be of the SNES game story and enemy wise (since a lot of them were LttP enemies and many people didn't pick up on it) so maybe take the same look of TWW and everything else of TP and you got my favorite Zelda (lttp) in 3D =)

I'm nearly 40, and i agree 100% with Soriku's OP, so... it has nothing to do with age, it's just a matter of taste...

But it's maybe true younger gamers have no shame tellin' they like cartoony graphics, while the 20-25 want to prove they're "real" men with "better", "grown-up" tastes...

That kind of behavior disappears the day you have kids, and you find yourself watching Disney or Pixar classics with them, or playin WW or Galaxy with them... the wonder in their eyes and the fun they have are just so great to see...

But for people like me, who have always been animation fans and Zelda fans too, WW cel shaded world >>> any FPS "realistic" world...

In fact, some of the WW dungeons are still my favorite of all the Zelda's i've played... and i've played them all at least once, sometimes two or three times...

I'll always remember the first impressions i've had in the Forbidden Woods, by example... it's so beautiful and impressive... but it's my taste, and my taste only, i don't force anyone to agree... in fact, i don't really care...

It's just a shame Nintendo will never do another WW, on Wii by example, because of the (very relative) "commercial failure" WW has known... I'm sure Aonuma would love to do it, so what if there's "only" 2 or 3 millions people interested, and not 5 or 6 millions? I'd LOVE to play it, that's for sure...
