Ah yeah. I know what ya mean. Nice that Pong was your first. The first game i remember playing was the original Pac-Man on the 2600. I'm 38, myself.

The real laugher when I think back to it, is that we could somehow spend hours upon hours playing Pong!  Literally, all the neighborhood kids were practically lined up to take their turn.

As far as the 2600 goes, I was never a really big fan.  Most of the games were so simple.  My parents bought an Intellivision, and there was no looking back.

My grandmother bought the system for me, since my parents were having tough times in the early 80's, like alot of people then. She always came up all of the time, and we'd always play that cheesy Basketball game and Combat, for hours on end.

SNES

N64 for playing much

I used to play a bit of my mum's old 2600 before I got a SNES. So 2th? Though I selected 4th.

Sixth gen. My trusty GBA was my first owned handheld. But I also played a lot of emulators, so I guess I played prior gens first?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The first console I played on was a rented Vectrex. Me and my sister played the crap out of it during those two days :).

The N64 was my fucking jam, and I was blessed with an uncle who had a PS1 so I got to play Crash too, I was never aware of the concept of a "console wars" as a child.

I'm now filled with determination.

You had it all good sir.

Gen 5 - N64.
Although my family also owned a Mega Drive, my first time playing a video game was on the N64.

Not sure. Depends on whether I played the Odyssey2/Videopac G7000 or the NES first. So was either a second or a third generation console. Technically though the fourth generation was already underway when I started playing though obviously I didn't yet realize how things worked.

I was the same way. I had no idea until years down the road that the Super Nintendo launched the same year I got my NES.
