DQ has little bearing on Capcom, MH has established itself as a portable beast where as DQ has a long consistent history on consoles. DQIX was controversial when first announced remember, the issue DQ has is that console players in Japan are now niche so a console DQ is going to sell far less then on handheld this is why the game is on 3DS and tbh it looks like it was on 3DS initially as that version is much further in development.

MH on the other hand is more consistent on portables, Tri is the best selling console game at 2m but compare that to the consistent 4m each handheld game achieves.

By consistent I'm assuming you mean the 2 PSP games that are the only ones tht have made it over 4 million? ;)

Unless you count all versions of each numbered run as 1 game.

The only reason for MH to go multiplat is if Capcom wants to expand the games audience on home console in the West. The Japanese market really prefers the HH market, so releasing a home console version there for the PS4 wouldn't quite make financial sense, but if their intent is the expand the games popularity in the West, well then, THAT would make sense.

But if the rumours are true and the NX is a hybrid, Capcom doesn't need to port the HH to a home console since that's what the console will do by itself

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I count them as 1 game as essentially the enhanced versions are simply the original version with an expansion pack in usual Capcom style.

Shipped vs Sold, read up on it while you're on time out.

Yes it would sell, and would make more money dueto 60$ price

A 20% price increase won't offset 100% higher development costs. Unless you are fine with a console version of Monster Hunter 4G with the same textures, models, etc. but in 1080p.

But then that wouldn't sell.

So yeah.

Lol $60 is 50% price increase over $40, not 20%.

In theory it could, yes.

MH should stay on Nintendo handhelds imo.
