I doubt it will cost much to produce

Certainly way more thant the 3ds one, by a landslie.

They use the kingdom hearts engine it wont cost that much, and the ps4 version will also sell more digital

3ds version 4-5 mil, ps4 1.5 mil. The 3ds version in just japan, will outsell the ps4 version worldwide.

PS4 will sell more and generate more money dueto 60$

The game is also way more expensive to develop, so the bigger profits are for the 3DS version almost for sure.

Honestly, I don't think so. PS4 version will require a slightly larger team, but it's not like the 3DS version will have sub $20 million budget. People forget that it being in HD doesn't make it inherently more expensive, it just means you need larger dev teams in order to accomplish everything in a timely fashion. There are PS1 games with $20-40 million budgets.

Certainly not a landslide.

3DS - 4 million
PS4 - 2 million

PS4 version exclusive in the west I'm guessing. So yes, it'll be the bestselling DQ.

Dq 11 will come west on 3ds.  They recently let it slip that dq 7 and 8 are coming west and with dq 11 the sales opportunity would be even higher especially after square had success with bravely default in the western market.

Yeah but isn't it generally thought that since console games typically cost more to produce, that's why they cost more at retail, to offset the cost?

I really don't think it being $60 will have anything to do with if it makes more money or not. If the 3DS version outsells it by 2:1, an extra $20 wouldn't be enough to diminish the lack of units sold. Especially since they wouldn't get all of that in revenue.

Larger teams = More money needed, pretty obvious.

Do you really believe the ps4 version is only a little bit more expensive than the 3DS version? Have you seriously think about it?

Just caught up and realized it's a simultaneous release? Is this confirmed? I for sure thought it would be 3DS first and PS4 months later (a la Ni No Kuni). If simultaneous release is the case, then I can't help but think it'll hurt the 3DS' sales and help the PS4's sales in Japan (3DS version will still outsell it handily though).

If they learned anything from the Ni no Kuni situation is that a simultaneous release is absolutely required.

3DS: 5m
PS4: 2.5m

NX: ???

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
