Depends on what you want from your RE's, if you want RE 4, then yes it deserves high scores, but if you wanted RE CV and before, then it failed.

I also never said it was a lie, I said that it attempted and failed at what the hype wanted it to do.  Personally I think RE 4 killed its franchise, thus causing Capcom to go in more a shooty-shooty-bang-bang route for the later games, as oposed to the tense, can I really stand up to this terrifying monster with my three bullets gameplay of the originals.

It's closer to REsident Evil spirit than the 4 i think, the 4 had not such atmosphere

The horizontal black borders put me off buying this game, when i play a game i expect it to use the full screen not to chop off 20%.

It honestly does not look scary, for a game that was supposedly a return to form for survival horror. Can't say much more tho, i have not played it.

It's a good game, but it's not memorable or outstanding.

Reviewers are idiots! This is the problem... Same thing with GTA. GTA IV has a better Metascore than GTA V...
This is the reason why I don't pay attention to Metascores when I buy games.
