My store is in Saint Louis, Missouri. The county is called Sunset Hills. My store's official designation is "Store 9565." Our sales number are slightly above average compared to a typical Toys R Us (not in systems specifically, I mean generally, to give you an idea of our store traffic).

How Interesting. I used to work a stones throw away from that place. BTW, it is St Louis County, Sunset Hills city. Kind of a curious place, SunsetHills itself is a wealthy suburb - but you have more middle income suburbs nearby and some offices.

Update please and what about game sale?

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

I didn't work today, but I did need to go to work to pick up my check. I also went to the mall to get a friend a graduation gift, so I stopped by the EB Games there.

We sold the remaining 13 Wiis today. We sold 1 Xbox360 as well, apparently. I don't know the numbers on PSP/DS.

Since I was in the mall already, as I said, I went to the EB Games (I had this thread in mind). I asked the two workers there what sales were like, on average. Their response (both said almost the same thing):

1-2 PS3s a week

6-7 Xbox360s a week

Any Wiis they get in are sold within 1-2 hours

I work again tomorrow, Wednesday. Will tell you what's up!

I hadn't been paying much attention to that, other than to notice a couple of things:

1) Command and Conquer is selling surprisingly well on the 360

2) We sell as many Wii games as we do 360 games

3) I rarely sell PS3 games of any type

I will pay closer attention to this in the future to provide more detailed feedback on this.

This is a great thread, before long you'll have people making detailed graphs on all this data ;) I'm Looking forward to your future reports.

Some ,even most ,of the people that work in those stores (specially gamestop ) are rabid fanboys wanting to spread their beloved console . I dont know if this is the case ,but it could be very well .In any case ,if you dont sell any X360 or PS3 and those consoles are sold at least 1 to 4 or 1/2 respectively to the Wii but you sell 20 and 30 Wiis a week I would say your store isnt representative at all .

If you look at my first post, I actually specifically stated that Toys R Us stores (in general) recieve more Wii shipments than most others stores, and I gave the example of Gamestop. Because we recieve more Wiis in -- approximately 35 or so every 2 weeks, instead of 8-10 a month, as many stores get -- our ratio of sales is higher. Or, put differently: everyone sells out of Wiis right now. The only difference is that we "sell out" of 30-35, and other stores "sell out" of 8-10.

I'm really trying my best to be as objective as possible here, Diomedes. I've reported the facts and observations at my store as best I can.

I just think it's odd that I'm being called a fanboy for reporting facts about my store.

Please note that I am NOT saying that my store represents every store in America. I even went out of my way to point out that our Wii shipments are larger than most other retailers. All I am doing is reporting the sales in my store. That's it. I really don't know how to be less biased than a factual report, frankly. You can spin opinions and ideas by phrasing them in particular ways, but numbers like this are hard to spin without literally lying. If you'd like to confirm that my store's shipments and sales are precisely as I've stated, please call us at: (314) 909-8788 and ask for R-Zone. Or, you can get in touch with management -- I've already told you that our store is the "Sunset Hills" location, store 9565. Our operating hours are 10 AM - 9 PM Mon-Sat, and 10 AM - 7 PM Sunday.

Don't sweat it, that guy's posts are 109% against the Wii and Nintendo and 148% pro-Sony. If you would've said the PS3 was selling like hotcakes you would've received praise.  However, the reality of the situation in your store is quite different so it's not really your fault that you are just reporting what you experience at work. In fact, I and many others like this thread, want to see it alive, and appreciate your input.

And yes, we all know this is only representative of one store. It's Toys R Us, not Gamestop, it's one store, not several, and the store is highly, incredibly representative of just one specific store located in Sunset Hills county, Saint Louis, Missouri, with an official designation of "Store 9565" and not representative of worldwide trends (even though it kinda matches the current sales trends of VGC).

This thread really suprises me. It is the first one I have seen that has to do with numbers that didn't erupt into a flame war. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experiences as they are much appreciated.
