When I went to pick up my preorder of SMG in NorthofBoston Mass USA there were about 10 copies available. This was at a smaller Gamestop store that's about 1 mile away from a mall's Gamestop. But this was on the 13th.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

I got 75 more Mario Galaxies in today, and all but 12 were gone when I left this afternoon.e.

 Thanks, Bodhesatva.

So, you mean that you've have sold 102+75-12 = 165 Mario copies since the beginning ?

And, though the first week isn't finished, could you please compare Mario with other big Wii-games first week sales ? (as MP8, GH3, Super paper Mario...)

Thanks !

tru is selling tons due to the 25GC special..period end of story.

The store by me got 9 boxes this week (2 Tues, 5 Wed, 2 Thurs) which, according to the guy I talked to, contain 40-50 copies each. So that's somewhere between 360 - 450 copies. Perhaps Bodhesatva can clarify that.

EDIT:  When I got my copy on Wednesday, they were almost sold out.  But they still had two of those boxes coming on Thursday.

how long does the $25GC special last for? I was under the impression it was for launch only.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit
11/03/09 Desposit: Mod Bribery (RolStoppable)  vg$ 500.00
06/03/09 Purchase: Moderator Privilege  vg$ -50,000.00

The problem with Wii is that it's unpredictable. At least to the developers.
Don't you think they should hire people on vgchartz to help make decisions?
Analysts and such aren't "hardcore" like fans. We live and breath stats, they should hire us :)

The problem is that 3rd party developers believe they can release somewhat known IPs with rrappy ports and no advertising and wonder why they don't sell.

In some cases, like with Godfather, the port was good (but not great) and the overall game was a ton of fun on the Wii. But if I didn't read reviews, I would have never known that or even known it was available.

If supply is increasing everywhere as fast as it is at Bod's store, this week's Wii sales will be amazing.

Indeed they would be. It makes me wonder if Nintendo is increasing production of US Wii units and halting production of Japanese ones. Japanese sales have been slow long enough to suggest that Nintendo could have a pretty big stockpile of those if they haven't adjusted production over the last few months they haven't been selling out in Japan.  Perhaps due to deals with TRU, TRU gets the bulk of that windfall over the holiday season.

I'd love to see the Wii increasing as much across the board and world wide. It would make me lose my bet with you, but that's no price to pay for all of the happy customers with Wiis over the holidays.

Wow. Receive 40 Wii's, sell them 1hr BEFORE opening. That's insane.

No.

Selling 40 Wii's 1hr BEFORE opening, 12 months after it was released.  Now that is insane!

Not many stores do $10k in revenue before the doors even open =P

To Each Man, Responsibility

Bod's store might sell more copies of SMG than whole of Japan...:)
