Square revealed that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be coming to both PC and PS4 before the release of the game on Xbone and Xbox360, the timing of the announcement possibly took most by surprise.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced by Square in Sony's last e3 and said to be a "Playstation 4 first" game, which begs the question if Square will do the same with FFVIIR as they did with ROTTR and announce more platforms for the game before the release of the game on PS4.

Do you think Square will reveal other platforms for FFVII Remake before the release on PS4?

Is FFVIIR situation any different to that of Rise Of The Tomb Rider? If so, why?

Probably. SE is just making the game on ps4, Sony didn't pay anything, there is no deal and SE can do and say what it wants.

If I remember correctly then Andrew House already said that the true nature of the FF7 Remake exclusivity will be announced before launch, so yeah I guess they'll do the same.

FF13 killed the franchise on the Microsoft console, or any hope of the franchise being a big player on the Microsoft consoles, so it won't matter either way.

Just reading the previous thread title may have given the impression this thread was about whether FFVIIR would be released in other platforms when it is about whether Square will reveal it ahead of the PS4 release.

I think you are making more out of this than needs be.

If square has already described the game as "PlayStation first" I think that pretty much says it all. The game will be coming to other platforms; after first releasing on the PlayStation. simple as that. If they announce the other platforms before or after the games release doesn't make any difference at all.

Kinda the same with ROTTR. Anyone would have known that game was only a timed exclusive of some sort and that it would make its way to other platforms. But a lot of people seemed to develop an acute lack of English comprehension at the time and suddenly didn't understand what "holiday exclusive" as it was announced in its reveal meant.

To be fair don't get your hoped up.

Tomb Raider sells better on PS.
FF sells way better on PS.

So I guess they won't make FF7R to Xbone because it is not viable like to make Tomb Raider to PS4.

Said that I expect FF7R for PC.
