Shenmue is like = GTA + Heavy Rain + JRPG + Virtua Fighter + YAKUZA , So yeah it's not opinion anymore. Shenmue is one of the best games ever beside FF7, Halo, GTA, TLOU, Mario, Pokemen etc.

I disagree on this, it's possible to do it for old games, one just needs to be mindful and respect the era in which a title was released in relation to how they percieve the game itself, and not just graphically.

But then, expecting anyone at gamespot to have the intelligence to do this is expecting too much.

I think Shenmue is a game not everyone can understand, it should have mixed reviews, it reminds me a lot Deadly Premonition, a cult game some understood and loved it while others just saw a broken game with an awful gameplay.

Shenmue is not the masterpiece everyone said it it. I tried it, and I found it having way too much QTEs, something I hate.

Sounds like he isn't even a gamer. I don't know how some of these guys become a voice in video games.

The ultimate dislike. I agree tho, just a shame you can't dislike a video without clicking on it for a second.... I choose to not risk the 1 second just incase.

lol ok then lets get more technical. Shenmue is the first 3D open city, qte, and its own day-night cycles with weather.

And don't even get me started on their ads. Thank god for Adblock.

To be fair, they gave the original game a 6.9 until Sega fumed about it, so they re-rated it. Which is pretty messed up they felt they had to do so. Publishers and reviewers shouldn't have that type of relationship.

Does seem a little late to be kicking dirt over it now though. Looks like they weren't brave enough to pull this when the Kickstarter was in full swing.
