Nope, there is way too many xbox ones for Square Enix to ignore. Even if FF15 sales 1/10th of the ps4 version, its still a lot of money especially consdiering how it isn't hard to port games from ps4 to xbox one and pc because same architectures and engines being able to handle all versions of the game.

Not at all, this isnt how it works , even if the architectures are the same, the hardwares are noy, it still takes a lot of money to develop each version on each hardware ( we already Know they struggle with thé x1 version to even reach 900p btw, its the kind of things that became important so more time for this version so more money ) + there is the big cost of publishing the game, thé benefit of a version selling barely 500k isnt enough for a game of this scale.

Square enix can ignore Xbox now they Know thé sales and Sony domination, for thé same reason Dragon Quest XI wont be on X1 ( you can mark my words on this), so microsoft has no interest in lawsuit with them, that would cost more money to square enix than what they can earn with X1 version of their games

Also, Square said that they wanted to boost console sales in Japan by supporting the PS4. (Nothing to do with what you said tho)

SE definitely know that they fucked up with this one. lol

Gaming engines (games are built on top of) have been proven to work on many different hardware with little to no changes. How do you think PC gaming works? You think they customize each game on different hardware? No, there is way too many possiblities.  Square Enix needs more money no matter what even if it is small just like almost all Japanese gaming publishers because Japanese publishers are moving to mobile development due to lack of intrest in JRPG.  Also, xbox one is getting way eaiser to develop and publishers are already making use of the system. I won't say all games will be 1080p (even though the difference between 900p and 1080p is small) it will improve. Just look at the improvements of mgs5 and pes 2016. Now games like fallout and tomb raider are hitting 1080p. The more time you have with hardware, the easier it gets to develop games for it and the more you can get out of it. Look at the ps3, before a lot of multiplat games were broken, but as time gone by games were on par with the 360.

Nothings wrong here.
They intentionally announced this cuz some idiots on the internet actually believed the 3 months console exclusive BS and kept spreading delusion lol.

Microsoft is publishing the game which spells a $39.99 edition of Tomb Raider for PS4 and a $30 edition for PC. Square is really going to have to make it up to the pissed off Sony and PC fans they sold out to make this deal.

To be honest, I don't know of any pissed off sony or pc fans. It's just a timed exclusive.

The deals done, the games coming out soon for Xbox and its 1 whole year before its main competitor touches it. I don't think they care at this point. Its not like no one thought it wasn't coming to rival platforms just like how FF7 remake is assumed to come to Xbox at some point as well.

You know what makes this deal so much better for MS? Is the fact gamers and fanboys talk about it all the time. The amount of spotlight and jealously that has been stirred up from this deal has only made this deal seem much more worth it.

Gamers care and the game that people talk about the most is only on X1 for an entire year, which is good marketing.

The talks between the release dates on rival consoles probably just finished and they probably made the decision to make it a year instead of 6 months, who knows, all I can say is the more gamers talk about it the more word of mouth goes out advertising the Xbox and TR. This is good for MS and Xbox because now gamers know how long the wait is to pick up TR where alot of gamers thought it was only 3-6 months wait. They knocked the ball out of the park early so now gamers have a choice, buy TR now on X1 or wait a year for its release. Its a good move, i wouldnt expect them, to announce a release date if they knew it was only 3 - 6 months away from rival platforms.

The whole thing was a massive waste of time. MS always does this shit instead of investing in something original like a new IPs.

I'm pretty pissed off,  been playing tomb raider since the ps1 in the mid 90's and played all of them after.

Without playstation tomb raider would never have been as big as it was so to get sloppy seconds a year later is pretty massive!

To the point where I'm going to buy it second hand a while after it releases because I won't give them my money.

They've made their bed now they can sleep in it, I hope it sells poorly

Well, you're the first that I've seen that's pissed over it but honestly I don't bother with any other gaming forums. I played all of the tomb raiders and I'm a fan of the series. I'm just not a huge fan of it I guess. Most likely, SE made this deal with MS before the start of this gen. Sony is getting the majority of 3rd party full exclusives and other kinds over the xbox one. We really shouldn't be getting mad over tomb raider's timed exclusivity when you look at the big picture. I can understand though why you feel that way over it.

If this game is like the last one, I'll probably pick it up when it's released on the PS4. To each their own.

I am a huge fan, and I'm still not upset. I was at one time when MS tried to make us all believe it's an exclusive exclusive, but after I quickly realized it's coming to PS4 eventually, I stopped caring.

I'll play it, and it really doesn't matter if it's in 2015 or 2017 (when I'll buy it at no more than half price). I have no need to play any game day one at all costs, if anything nowadays games get even better the longer you wait.
