To buy OTHER Microsoft products or not?

That is the question!

Sure, if you are big Xbox fan, you may be more inclined to buy other MS products, but do you?  Beyond Xbox, MS now makes a large number of products people use every day.  Cell Phones, Tablets, Commercial Grade presentation equipment, Fitness Bands, Computer Accessories (keyboards/Mice), Computer Software – Office/Skype/Games, Cloud Storage.  With Windows 10 coming soon, almost all of the MS products will have a very seamless integration between them by next year.  That should make buying into the MS ecosystem much easier for some, and even more of a reason to exclude them for others.

For the Xbox haters or PS Fanboys, does your hate extend to other MS products by default?  Do you just automatically exclude MS products from your possible purchases?  Or is console gaming one thing and the rest of your life another?

So, do you buy MS products when given the choice?

I am not a big Xbox fanboy (I do own all 3 of their consoles, but I buy all the consoles from all manufacturers), but I am a MS products guy.  I turn 45 later this year and I used some of the very first MS-DOS computers up through what is available today.  So, I have a “little experience” with them.  I currently own 2 Lumia Cell Phones, 3 Surface tablets, a MS Band, all 3 Xbox consoles, multiple different MS office packages and of course a number of MS studios games for PC and I am a big Onedrive user.  I have been running different versions of Windows 10 for the last 8 months and can’t wait for the final release update for all of my PCs and tablets. I have also been running Win 10 on my Phone the last month or so.  It seems that there may be a few months before that is really ready.  What I like most about these products, is that they all seem to be coming together in the last few years.  All of them just work together.

I am not exclusive to MS, as I also own Iphones/Ipads/Apple TV and Kindles/Fire TV.  I have or had just about every console/handheld released in the last 25 years and many before that.  I have had some of the original Apple computers and even the Commodore computers back in the day.

I own a Xbox One, Windows Phone and looking forward to getting a Surface one day.

Just Xbox, only product from MS that I've cared about. Might get a Surface one day.

Edit: Actually, I have bought Office too. So just Office and Xbox.

Xbox and Office are my main ones, I sometimes make use of OneDrive on Xbox so that I don't need to pay for Xbox Music :p Never been interested in their mobile side.

I should edit my OP, but the Surfaces that I own are all the PRO version.  I have and have used about every tablet out there and the Surface PRO is not just better, but leaps and bounds better.  Besides having the basic tablet features, it has Windows 7 Mode(really just the standard windows mode in win8).  So, when I am working, it has all of the standard PC capabilities.  I have the Surface Docking station set up.  It allows me to just drop the Surfaceinto it and my 27 inch monitor/keyboard /mouse are off and running.  WHen I am done, I walk away with a fully charge tablet/laptop.

All I have heard are great things about the Surface. Nice to see you are enjoying yours as well.

i hate "ecosystems".

the hidden statement to "tight integration between our products" is "lousy integration into anything not our product".

i have a mixture of windows and apple (and playstation i guess) devices in my home and therefore i use third party products for all my services because they are the only ones that support all my devices.

Xbox, OS and Phone, hoping for a Surface soon. I've never had anything from MS fail on me so why change.

I dont really care for Xbox but I'm highly intrigued with Microsoft's Surface Pro. I've yet to pick one up but when they make a Surface Pro that is equal or better than a Wacom tablet then im sold.
