Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Halo 5: Guardians Collector's Edition Digital Codes Can Be Traded For Physical Copies

343 Industries has good news for Halo 5 fans who were wanting a physical copy of the game with their collector's editions.

Although the Collectors Edition bundle includes a download code for the full game, it does not actually include a physical Halo 5: Guardians disc. However, those who prefer physical copies over digital will have the option to trade their codes for discs.

"Today, we’re able to confirm that for those who would like a physical disc, we’ll provide an option for fans to exchange their digital copy for a physical copy at no additional cost," says a post on the Halo Waypoint. "We’ll get into details as we get closer to launch, and we’d like to once again thank you for the feedback."

Along with a copy of the game the Collector's Edition also includes a large statue featuring Master Chief and Spartan Locke, special packaging, Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series, and other goods. It can be pre-ordered now for $250.

Halo 5: Guardians releases for the Xbox One on October 27.

This is great news as I love to Collect anything gaming. On the subject of collecting, I just got a Nintendo box for free ( in great condition) from my brother in law that helps flip houses, they found it in the basement, came with controllers, nintendo gun, Mega Man 2, Mario Bros./duck hunt both with instruction manuals, however no Nintendo but as I already have one, all I really needed was the box. Also has styrofoam included.

However on to Halo 5: Guardians Collector's Edition. I did not care for them leaving out the physical copy, as that's a massive part of collecting, this would have been the make or break deal for me, so since I'm allowed to trade up, "PRE-ORDERED".  This year I'm going to be broke with all the great games coming out.

So does this make the Bundle more appealing?

If you collect this stuff then normally you expect a boxed copy as standard. I think it does make it more appealing and certainly is a good move.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

With the game still 3 months out, I don't see why they don't just get rid of the digital code entirely and put in a physical disc?

Most likely because they started making these bundles already, since the code allows them to start before the game goes gold.

Interesting!

That's nice of them. I wish all games with digital codes had that option.
