The numbers were actually outstanding from Microsoft with larger than expected growth, beating both revenue and profit estimates. Just a large writedown in Nokia being the killer.
"Revenue for [windows phone] decreased by $552 million, or 68 percent. Both Lumia and non-Lumia phone revenue declined, which Microsoft attributes to lower volumes and lower-priced devices."
"Revenue from sales of Windows to computer makers, meanwhile, also took a hit, down 22 percent amid a slowing PC market."
So PC and mobile are down.. but xbox and surface and cloud are up (yay?)
They beat estimates yes, but their stock still dived.
