Sony will not have an operating loss of $2.05 billion.. lol

Only if there was a natural disaster or a total f***-up

huh?

All I'm saying is we don't have the data to say weather the title of the thread is true or not yet.

Correct, and im saying there's a 99% chance the OP will be true which is why i decided to post it anyway.

Last year they made a profit of 69.8 billion yen (up 96.7%) in the same quarter and they had no major issues or aquisitions this year

#1 Amb-ass-ador

Nice to see Sony is slowly recovering but come on Microsoft is going to be around and not be in trouble for a very very very long time.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

They would have made a usual $5bn profit if it wasn't for that writedown. And revenue was expected to be down since people might be waiting for Windows 10 to come out.

-snip-

Those are FY Q4 results, i.e. from January 1st to March 31st.

We'll get Sony's results from the Q1 of their new fiscal year (which is to say the same time frame of Microsoft's results) on July 30th.

In other words, we don't know if Microsoft lost more money than Sony this quarter yet.

OP pls.

Yes we do know. There is simply no way that Sony could suffer a loss that great and still exist. There is no realistic way that could happen.

They totally failed with Nokia. This is why I don't want them near AMD.

The numbers were actually outstanding from Microsoft with larger than expected growth, beating both revenue and profit estimates. Just a large writedown in Nokia being the killer.

"Revenue for [windows phone] decreased by $552 million, or 68 percent. Both Lumia and non-Lumia phone revenue declined, which Microsoft attributes to lower volumes and lower-priced devices."

"Revenue from sales of Windows to computer makers, meanwhile, also took a hit, down 22 percent amid a slowing PC market."

So PC and mobile are down.. but xbox and surface and cloud are up (yay?)

They beat estimates yes, but their stock still dived.
