Yeah, that'd be the absolute worst thing that could happen to the country.  Presidency is restrained by Congress/House.  Scotus appointments though have much much longer lasting effects.

Because his plans are batshit crazy.  His plan is to impose a huge tariff on China, which would just start a trade war with the biggest growing market for American products.  He proposes that he can force Mexico to build a wall on its border... which may be a good plan if they weren't an incredibly poor nation without the means to do so.  His plan is to cripple their economy with taxes if they don't do this project, which would mean more poverty, which would mean more Mexicans crossing the border.

He's just an idiot who thinks we can tax every other country into doing what we want them to.  That's shitty foreign policy.

So do you feel that it is okay for China to manipulate their own currency?  China subsidizes their exports and raise the price of their imports by as much as 30-40%.  They strengthen their international competitive positions, increase their trade surpluses and generate domestic production and employment at the expense of the United States and other countries.  So how is a 25% tariff on China "batshit crazy" when you have fucking China doing this shit?  This isn't something totally new here.  Donald Trump is just merely addressing what Congress has been showing great concern for the past couple of years.  It's just that Trump has stepped up to the plate and decided to fix issues.  

Perhaps you have a better way of fixing this crap ^ other than a tariff. Please, I am all ears. 

Now you have companies cutting back in China and heading over to Mexico to manufacture an array of products.  Not to mention that you have top American companies, like Ford (2.5 billion dollar plants), investing in Mexico as well.  Then they will have to build this giant wall.  Sounds like a lot of new job creation in Mexico if you ask me.

If he gets elected I'm not moving back to America for 4/8 years.

You should probably try to research a guy a bit more before supporting him... you know?  Cause Trumpy wants to impose something like a 30% tax on Ford cars coming out of Mexico to get rid of the plants there.  So, if Trump has his way, we're not going to see any US investment in Mexico.  So much for all those new jobs you propose.  A giant publics works project that they don't have the infrastructure for is simply a stupid idea.

I do know that.  I also know that those $2.5 billion dollar Ford plants were supposed to be built in Tennessee.   Why are American car companies being bulit in areas outside of the United States when our own country needs jobs?  Japanese cars are being exported to America yet our cars aren't being exported to Japan.  We need to create jobs here in America instead of outsourcing them.

In the words of one of my willfully ignorant "I vote republican because I'm supposed to" conservative religious friends, "Well, he got rich for a reason, maybe he can take those smarts to the White House".....as if making money is somehow a litmus test for running a nation of people, and as if Trump really earned his money the hard way.

To be fair, the same friend did mention that he liked Sanders' stances on veteran issues. But I'm afraid the moment he finds out *gasp* he's a proud Socialist, he'd never consider voting for him. Cuz, you know ,that's a "bad word".

I never asked you to come up with a better idea.  I don't really care what you to say about Chinese currency.  Once you're running for an office that I have to vote for, then I'll ask you for a plan.  As for this conversation, you've failed to show Trump's plan is a good one.  You just went on a rant like "grrrrr China is bad! They manipulate currency!"  which has no bearing on whether or not the plan is a good one.  To go back to the analogy, we both realize that a bear in our tent is a problem.  But just because the bear is a problem does not make dick honey a solution.   And no, I said slathering honey on my dick is stupid.  If you're too lazy to make up your own analogy, at least follow mine correctly.
