Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What do you prefer, ranked battle or turf war in Splatoon?

Turf wars, for sure.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Guys I actually haven't even tried Ranked Battle yet.

What's the difference in that compared to the Turf Wars?

There are two different ranked modes. Splatzone is when your team has to cover the splatzone (or zones depending on which stage your playing) and keep it covered in your ink for 100 seconds. Or have it covered for the longest time when time runs out.

Tower mode you have to progress the tower to your enemy's end point. When a member of a team gets on the tower it starts moving towards the enemy. The tower has a defined path both ways. You progress the tower to your enemy's end point or have progressed it the most when time runs out.

It's definitely more intense than turf wars. I find tower mode slightly more than splatzone.

Turf War > Tower Control > Splatzones imo

Don't think it's fair to break it up like that as it's two modes versus one and who knows they may eventually move the modes around so you could be playing Turf Wars in Ranked. I'm just gonna say Turf Wars > Tower Control > Splatzones!

Depends on the stage...

Same here. I hate Splatzones in Arowana Mall but love them in Port Makerel, Skatepark or Saltspray Rig.

Interesting! Might try that out tonight.

Turf War, because it makes me look good.
