this is what the source says and keeps spreading
Twitch revealed that the most popular press conferences being streamed from its site – the biggest host for streaming anything gaming related – was Microsoft’s E3 press conference, where viewership peaked at 840,000 viewers. Neither Sony nor Nintendo managed this kind of a showing, though, bafflingly enough, EA managed to post similar numbers too. Guess the allure of Mass Effect must have been high for most people. Nevermind all the people who watched it live in theaters.
Vasto said: Microsoft showed exclusive after exclusive game, surprised the world with backwards compatibility and gave hardcore gamers what they wanted. But was it enough? Based on Twitch.tv the platform on which most people watched the conference, the Microsoft held show garnered the highest viewership of all the conferences, with EA coming in at a distant second. But that’s not all, Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram showed that the Xbox platform dominated the conversation with over 70% of mentions and posts being about the Xbox. Other platforms barely registered as being anything out of the ordinary.

Quote from second article: "Synthesio explained that most of its data comes from Twitter, where 81.4 percent of all the E3 conversations took place. Instagram and Facebook only accounted for 3.3 percent and less than one percent respectively.
I wish you would have brought this article to our attention when it was posted back on June 23rd since topsy (a site that tracks twitter posts) only goes back 30 days. Since twitter was 81.4 percent of their data, then this site should show a percentage well above PS4 just a couple days after E3...right? I mean XB1 was 74% on Twitter while PS4 was just a measly 13.4%. Lets see where these percentages are at:

If MS was the most popular conference and stated this fact, it would not be spinning. The fact that they obviously were not and are stating this make it a spin. |
MS said they had the most viewed E3 on twitch, the numbers are there. I'm not sure why this is up for interpretation.

You know what they. Talk is cheap.
Microsoft didn't really announce anything much new though. Bar a couple of CGI trailers.
This doesn't mean anything. Let the hardware sales speak for themselves.

They do, that's why they're still talking about who won E3. Because hardware tells the actual story.
