Pretty sure Red Son Superman could destroy Goku quite finely, considering his personality.

All Star Superman is basically a no brainer for smudging Goku five ways from Sunday.

What a character should or should not be able to do is NOT up for the debate of the fans. The discussion is fine and dandy and it's all in good fun that we annoy one another with these types of things...but it always comes down to preferences.

Also, to whoever says Goku was supposed to be limitless: learn your DB and your DB background story. Goku was never meant to be reach beyond Frieza. Heck, he was never supposed to be some planet cracking super god. But fans demanded it, Toriyama was all too happy for the money, and here we are, with Cyan Hair Goku.

"What a character should or should not be able to do is NOT up for the debate of the fans."

Irony is so ironic.

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster (original creators of Superman) died in 1992 and 1996 respectively, by your way of thinking, all Superman canon after their deaths is not permissible.  Goku wins.

I'm afraid you did not quite get what I said.

Fact: Toriyama did not want to push DBZ farther than the Frieza Saga. It was corporate insistance and fan insistance that got him to do more DBZ. You'll find this information on any DB Universe Wiki.

My comment was made with regards to what a lot of fans keep on saying Goku SHOULD be able to do or not. If Goku runs the Snake Way in a few months, you'll find a lot of fans that keep on saying that he should have been able to do much faster since he already could move faster than light as a kid. Look it up, you'll find the discussions.

When a Superman / Goku versus comes up, it's always the Goku camp that keeps on dragging it out into what the character should be able to do - crack a Galaxy or something -. Hence my comment.

Hope it clears up your irony sinus.

Superman is waaay to inconsistent, at times he loses to batman, or big barda, other times he has a force field on top of his invulnerability that he can throw, goku is much more consisten, that is why he would loose, if superman were consistent he would obviously lose to Goku just because superman has a fractions of the sun's power and goku is many many more times more powerful than the sun. The only character that can consistently defeat both is Dr. Manhatan.

Wow, I'm surprised people are taking deathrattles seriously. It's been known that screw attack has a huge bias against anime characters (toph vs. gaara, seriously...). The best way to enjoy deathbattles are to just marvel at the animation done. After all, when it comes to research, they aren't experts, they just take what's interesting enough to make another fight and get views

Vegeta, Guts, Strider Hiryu, and Gundam Epyon say hi to you.

I have yet to see all of them (isn't strider a capcom video game character?), but the ones I have seen where infuriating.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with goku losing (or any other anime character losing), but the biggest issue I had was their reasoning for each one.

example: they claim goku waits till the enemy is in full power, but this contradicts him wanting gohan to finish cell early or help from majin vegeta to finish buu off early.

I still stand by my point that deathbattles are jokes and should not be taken seriously at all. They just take what's interesting enough to make a good fight

Strider Hiryu came first as manga published by Capcom.

Did you not watch the fight with Frieza? He gave Frieza energy just to make it a fair fight. And what about Bills? He tried to make Bills to fight at 100%, even though that would probably destroy the Solar System.

Manga is not anime... But whatever, I said that you probably know more than I do on deathbattles

I watched the frieza fight, and bills came after the deathbattle was made. But seeing as how goku's behavior against cell and majin buu are inconsistent with this point, why would you make it a key point in the deathbattle?

Honestly that was only an example of the many skewed facts that they use to decide a winner. Sonic not instantly killing mario with super speed, gaara getting snuck up on by toph, Kirby having time to even suck stuff up against kid buu, all of these things and more just don't make sense which is why I gave up on deathbattles (animations like snake vs Sam are what keeps me coming back tough)

The animation is just for entertainment. Nothing more than that.

Sorry, just because Toriyama sold out, doesn't mean fans get to bitch and roll back the canon, same with Superman.  That's the point.  Hope that clears up your attempt at being smug.

They say the reason Goku doesn't just get kryptonite or instant transmission Superman to a red sun is because it's against his character. He wouldn't try to beat an opponent by exploiting their weakness.

Solution: Vegeta vs. Superman.

What kind of cop out would Screw Attack come up with to make Superman win this one? Because he would most certainly use whatever he could to defeat his opponent.

Except people don't want Vegeta Vs Superman. And Superman can just speedblitz Vegeta anyway.

And Vegeta is always known to be behind the power curve... Every time. Vegita simply would never be strong enough.

I really think we're both missing something out of the other guy's replies.

And don't say that Superman is weak if we ignore post 1992 stuff. Silver Age Superman is still one of the most ridiculous things in fiction.
